New Member? Introduce yourself here!

First off, welcome to the forums!

If you'd like to introduce yourself to the forum before you begin posting, please feel free to do so in this thread. This is not required, of course, because the best way to introduce yourself is always by making some contributions to the forum. If you'd like to introduce yourself to a specific region, you may do so, but any introductions posted in other sections will be moved here.

Please reply to introductions only if you have something more to contribute, than "Welcome to the forums!"

I'm a new member.

My name is Moxx. Well, that's what most people know me as.

I'm new to UE, but I've always had a fascination with old buildings and the history that surrounds them. I'm not really a photographer. Although I just inherited an old Nikon FM10.

I mostly paint. And I have gone to an old cemetery near my house to draw the stones and everything. It's dated back to the 1600s - present.

The most recent places I've explored is Paul Dever in Taunton. And an old hospital in Middleboro. My partner, Katie, and I, plan to explore some things in Plymouth when we go camping. We tend to travel a lot anyway. But now that I have a camera, I can document our adventures.

Other than exploring and painting, I play guitar in a band. I've been playing for about three years among other various instruments. And I work at a Pizza shop, which is pretty much like partying every day.

And yeah. I'm laid back.

So, it's a pleasure meeting everyone. =D

I stumbled across this site while doing research on some of the places I've explored and plan to explore--it's great to know there are plenty of urban exploration fanatics out there, and hopefully I'll have some things to contribute as well as to learn here!

Anyhow, I'm CaitTheGreat, so...hi!

Well, having already posted a few things, time to introduce myself. I'm a new member (but I've been UEing for about five years now), my name is Grayson, and I live in Columbus, Ohio. I'm a 26-year-old male.

Things of note I've explored: the Mill in Tempe, Arizona, the Phoenix Trotting Park outside Phoenix, lots of ASU/U of A campus, the Palast der Republik in Berlin (they're demolishing it now ), lots of Ohio State University (including steam tunnels and the football stadium), a few abandoned factories/occupied churches in Europe, and the rooftops of any building I happen to be working in

My equipment: small portable LED flashlight, a decent-sized Maglite, an Olympus 7.l megapixel digital camera (or a small disposable camera if the environment's hostile to valuable electronics), and a cell phone.

So that's my introduction. Um, hi everyone!

What a wonderful site!

Great to meet all of you. I've been fascinated by UE for years, although I haven't actually partaken practically since Jesus was a boy. In fact, back when I was actively doing this stuff -- we're talking early to mid 1980's here -- it wasn't even called Urban Exploration. Best I recall, it was generally referred to as "dumbass weirdo kids doing incredibly stupid things."

Not, of course, that my friends and I were deterred by such labels. We hit a number of spots in and around New York City and I enjoyed it immensely. Most of those places are long since demolished, although I believe a few still exist. My all time favorite was North Brother Island. I wish I still had the pictures I took there – alas, they seem to have vanished at some point over the intervening years. (If by some chance they do turn up, I'd be happy to post them.)

I now live in northern Georgia and I've seen some tempting sites in the area. Eh, maybe one day I'll come out of retirement yet....

I'm Shawn. I live in Osceola, WI. I usually explore old barns (ha ha) and occasionally get to the Twin Cities, which is actually where I do most of my exploring. I don't get to get out as much as I would like because of other obligations, but am willing to go in groups if anyone is interested.

Conquests:
A few old barns
Some sewage drains
An old Hotel and still site
Some old copper mines
A few abandoned houses
The Old Abbot Hospital
The (choke) Mushroom caves
Got into the old Trolley tunnels when they were fixing the Wabasha bridge, but got chased out by pigeons

Next Missions:
Old Power Plant
Steam Tunnels
Misc.

Hi there everyone. I'm xmvcx from SoCal. I actually came across this site one day when I was trying to find info on the old El Toro USMC base. I've only ever been ue once in a closed down movie theater that was broken into and I had to respond to the police, being as I was a manager with the company who was supposed to be "securing" the location. It was quite a treat, and there wasn't too much damage done by vandals. Well, I've really enjoyed reading through the forums and seeing the pics. Have a great day everybody!

Hey everyone, I'm James. Awesome site you all have here. I'm from Chicago, and have been into UE since I was a kid and explored/broke into any place I could find that was even remotely interesting. I never knew that there was much of a following for this type of thing, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this site. I'm also glad to see that there is a general code of conduct within this crowd, I hate when good places are ruined for everyone else because some dumb kids go and smash everything up and make alot of noise

I am a photographer and of course my favorite subject matter is abandoned places. In fact, I am a photography major in college, and one semester for my final project I made a book of photos of an abandoned building. I will have to dig them out of the piles sometime and put them up and see what you all think of them.

Some of my favorite places to explore are an abandoned college in the area, and an abandoned hospital. My main UE goal for the future is to find a way into the underground delivery railroad in downtown Chicago, but from what I can find out, it is next to impossible to get into and partly flooded, so this will be interesting if I can ever find an entry point.

Hello, I'm new to this site and am really glad I found it. Before I thought I was the only one who loved to infiltrate, but I'm glad I am awfully wrong. I don't have a car so I always run to places. I usually train at a highschool 1 mile away, its a huge place, and I always go and do parkour/night parkour sneakery, splinter cell stuff. Ive been in a few tight spots, seen alot of things, and have done even more. I always love getting in some black clothes and running through a field of brush, hopping a few fences and sneaking around on buildings. I'm the only one who does it here in Sacramento, or so I think. I love yoga, Ninjutsu, military/government stuff, weapons, parkour, running, the wilderness, etc. Id be more that VERY UPLIFTED to find somebody close to train with, the shadows are lonely around here, I am their only friend

Hey folks, I signed up a few days ago and have been lurking, figured I'd introduce myself. I found this message board through the infiltration site. I'm a photographer (not professional, just for personal enjoyment) who got tired of shooting the usual stuff and decided to do some research on urban abandonment (mainly old industrial complexes) in my area. Couldn't really find too much info online at least. Then, I came upon "Access All Areas" on amazon.com and ordered it. Great book so far! I never even knew there was a whole culture around exploring abandoned and active sites.

Technically, I guess I have been urban exploring since I was 18 or so. In college we heard about a whole network of tunnels that connected several buildings on campus and actually found a few entrances. I've also come across & explored several abandoned houses, structures, etc. while hiking and off-roading.

About 2wks ago, I photographed this huge industrial complex that I found out about by a tip from a friend who grew up in the area. This place was amazing, I have never explored anything of that scale before. I set out with the main intention of photography, but I actually enjoyed the exploration part of the trip just as much if not more! Haven't had much time to process the photos yet, but I'll post them soon.

Hello,

I am a new urban explorer from Puerto Rico... In fact, today I just did my first scouting for storm drains within walking distance of my house.

I've been a curious type all my life. (What was that old building for? Who used it? Who worked there? Who lived there?). Try having nearly four gigs in the hard drive just in all the topographic maps of the island, (in both individual format and mosaic) and a full color mosaic of aerial photographs of all Puerto Rico.

Anyone from Puerto Rico let me know. I will post about my scouting experience today.
