Hey, what's up? My name is Mandy and I live in Northeast Tennessee. We have some truly amazing abandonments here, and I always wanted to get inside one of them but never knew how. One day, just in passing, I mentioned to one of my friends that I would love to go inside Bemberg factory, which is in my hometown. She introduced me to one of her friends, who is a member on this forum. He took me exploring one night, and I've been hooked on it since. It's so incredible too see what the human mind puts into material. Every time I have a free night, I call him up and we go exploring together. It's like a drug to me. I love it. So, yeah. I'm glad that there are others out there who are as intrigued as I am in urban exploration. Happy exploring!
Mandy

Hello, my name sis Kaleb I am from the Omaha nebraska/council bluffs Iowa area. I have always been fascinated with old structures. I have been doing this kind of thing on and off since I could drive pretty much. Whenever I have seen an old structure I have always kept them in the back of my mind as a place that I would like to explore. I am also a martial artist, I build/restore cars, and am going to school and majoring in guitar performance.

Hey everyone, I'm from eastern Massachusetts. I've lived in both Toronto and Ottawa as a student, so seeing that this site was Canadian was pretty cool. I've always been fascinated by abandoned buildings left to waste away to nothing, especially the ones with original items left inside and intact. You can almost feel the history that happened in these places. I just did my first real exploration last week and it was incredible! I'll post some of the pictures I took soon. I'm really glad I found this website, and I'm looking forward to more adventures soon. Cheers!

hi everyone. my name is edward. i've honestly been a lurker for sometime now on here, but would like to finally contribute and participate in any meet and greets/events that will be coming up. i'm from northern california and became interested in urban exploration out of "accident." i am an avid photographer (using still film and instant film as my medium), and took photographs in areas that were remote and obscure. since then i've explored areas on my own, but within the legal limits and became fascinated with abandoned structures ever since (mare island naval shipyard was what got me hooked).

i am a electro_mechanical engineer by profession, and have always worked in industrial settings (powerplants, ships, shipyards, power stations), so i have the basic understanding of what certain structures and machinery entail. i guess i've always been hooked on large machinery hence my interest in all of this stuff. if anyone is in northern california, i'd love to go along and learn. i have the proper ppe (half masks, hepa filters, gloves, etc. etc. and can even help you with new ppe if you need any).

Good Morning World,

My name is Keith and I am an UrbEx.

I understand the first step (http://www.serenityfound.org/steps.html) is admission so therefore, I admit I am powerless in my lust for exploration of the abandoned. I started during the 1980's when I came across a historic black college left to ruin. Alas, none of the buildings still exist and the history of the site is only a footnote to bio's of interesting people.

Being that I now live in South Louisiana, there are more rural abandonments than urban with access. Most of the urban places have turned into various forms of crack houses and thug hangouts but every once in a while I get lucky and have been able to sneak past some of the 504's or 225's to get a glimpse of what life might have been like.

Most of my interest is the historical value and architecture of places.

I will be posting some of my adventures on a website soon and will give you guys a link.

Honest, I was just looking. www.urbexmag.com

Hey I'm Dreamers_Disease and obviously I'm new. I live in Southern California but hope to locate to Portland in a couple years after college.

This past week it's been killing me, not able to post. The photographs that everyone posts are just beautiful and I hope one day to be able to reach everyones high expectations. At the moment I'm using a basic digital camera but am researching better quality cameras that can be used with a tripod.

Well, thats all I can think of so bye!

Hi, I live in Manchester & have been into urban exploration for a year or so now. Having looked around a few abandoned buildings and above ground stuff I found my home underground.

I was inspired by the photos of the pros and Im trying to improve my own technique. Drains, culverts and sewers are all a good way to spend time whenever possible.

I keep a record of past explores on my blog, http://substormflow.blogspot.com/. It's great to see locations from all around the world on this site, good stuff!

ive always loved to explore abandoned places but the only people who ever were interested were my art school friends, and they normally were not ballsy enough to join me. i found this site after i was looking up info on an old abandoned hospital in ms. (i will post the pics when i get back in town)any how i instantly was stoked to see so many others were just as into this as i am and i can tell my friends to fuck off when they tell me how weird it is lol

any how thanks for the site i plan on sticking around awhile

ahhh.. hey.
i have posted a few things here already. perhaps this is only a short phase, (being on a message board. i kind of hate computers.) it happens, but i guess i will say something while i am around for an unknown length of time.. about.. myself. i like exploring. (ohh reaally?) anything. woods, ditches, buildings, reasons, peoples brains... if its new to me, i want to know about it.
too many interests.
but, although i have been exploring for years, it hasnt been as frequent in the past as it is now. and i have pretty much one friend to thank so much for that.
but i am always willing to go somewhere, even if i have already been.
i want to start getting into it even more.. and eventually i want to be considered a crazy mother fucker, i guess. not for other peoples sake, of course, but hell, im afraid of heights, and i (am working on it, really!) want to be able to get to the tallest rooftop and stand at its edge, walk across 5th story beams/supports through a busted wastland of a floor, climb pipes and (rusted) ladders, stepless fire escapes, and with utmost confidence.
(that means, i need to know by feel and sight what is structurally sound, too.)
i wanna be a spaceman of urban exploration..
become one with the building, the nature that takes it back..
i want to be invisible. what better places to do so?

and hey, what is considered weird by some, is just a fucking interest. i am confused and find people who have no desire to understand and want to see different things whether it be from a figurative or literal perspective, much more wierd. weirdness though, (depending on how the word is used, i guess..) is a beauty, as far as im concerned. a difference. something to be.. explored.. and naturally, i am intrigued by things out of the ordinary, and am sure most of the people around here are.

p.s.....
i kind of talk a lot.
i apologize in advance...
