She sure is looking rough these days. It looked bad last time I was there several years ago but it's gotten much worse. I would guess because the local paper has had several articles about it and I've even seen a couple pieces on the local tv channels nightly news. The city is trying to work out a deal to sell it to the college nearby and knock it down, so enjoy it while you can.
By the way, it would be in your best interest to get a decent respirator if you go in there again. There is a metric ton of black mold and even more asbestos, and I'm sure you'd like to avoid a respiratory infection or something worse.
The local PD also patrols that place daily due to complaints and neighbors will call the police, so fair warning.

Posted by Jwiz Demo has not yet began.. Its in the plans but they have not started and there is no start date that I know of
Hey, when I was there, a couple of the buildings behind it had already been knocked down and a surveyor was on the land. He told my friend and I that demo had already started... (just going off what I was told)

I was there a couple of weeks ago and a couple buildings are already gone. A person that lives next to it told me a wrecking ball, etc was coming in to get started on it the first of this month. No idea if that has happened or not?
It is sad in a way as it was my first explore many years ago. However it's gotten to the point where it was the worst kept secret in the urbex world and was in terrible shape. So much so it's not even worth visiting anymore and it really needs to come on down...

Any current info on the location (security, state of buildings)? It's my goal to head here before it gets completed demo'd. Also, would an asbestos mask be recommended?
