I wear these in the winter

And these in the summer

However, sometimes, depending on the location, I may wear regular old tennis shoes.

These.

Though mine are 14 holed, steel toes and have taken a hell of a beating. On the negative side, they are NOT stealthy in the least bit. The soles are very loud, almost like high heels.

...fairly certain I'm usually in my converse. Once or twice I've worn my Reeboks, but usually just my converse. But, I wear them everywhere.

That cat is awesome.

Also, I use whatever shoes are on my feet.

+1

I've explored in high heels once when I found an abandonment unintentionally on a drive home from a formal event, lol...
I don't recommend it but just be smart about it.

I wear these no matter what. The fiberglass shank is strong. It has taken direct hits from rusty nails and screws more times that I can count and not a single one has made it through. Waterproof is a necessity.

This is when they were new. They have had the shit beaten out of them since then and while they don't look as nice, they have held up very well with very frequent exploring and everyday use on construction sites.

Hikers. Sometimes work boots, if it's somewhere nails are an issue, but my work boots are hiker-style anyway. And occasionally sandals! They're golf sandals, and offer decent protection & great traction. (spikes) My version of waterproof. haha (I've even climbed a mountain in those things)

Rothco panama jungle boots except in winter then its my insulated, waterproof hikers. They would suck for fencing but I go under or through & I don't scale, I mule kick

Sneakers for me.

Only because that’s what I wear most everyday.

Sometimes I get sad because they don’t last forever. I find myself pausing over the trashcan with a pair of dead Adidas or Vans and reflect on the rad places I’ve walked through, climbed in/over, crawled and ran from.

I know of a guy who explores drains wearing no shoes at all.
I'd rather wear hip or chest waders. As for other explores, good old army boots ftw.

Danner boots. Only way to go.

I have a pair of Danners. They fit well and haven't failed me yet, and I certainly have abused them. The only barefoot running shoes I've spent much time in are these http://michaelhyat...ve-fingers-kso.jpg You shouldn't wear them to places likely to have tons of broken glass/rusty nails (Although I have before....), but then again you should also watch where you step. Its all about preference, and not stepping places that will hurt your feet.

Boots are better all around for industrial locations, cold weather, snow, and any heavy hiking (especially if your carrying much weight).

I basically own three pairs of running shoes.

1. The pair that actually run in. These ones are in the best shape, and I don't wear them for anything else.

2. The ones that I wear in public when I'm too lazy to wear anything nicer like my converses or anything that requires lacing (basically winter flip flops). These ones are pretty worn on the inside, so it's not really a good idea to run in them anymore, but they're still somewhat comfortable and socially acceptable.

3. The ones that I explore in. These ones are so dirty/smelly that I can't wear them in public anymore. They're usually really worn out on the inside, and covered in sewage sometimes, from exploring. This is a picture of my current exploring shoes.

i would definitely wear these to any active asylum. if you drool a little, they won't be able to tell the difference between you and any other patient. a gown with shit stains would help too

I know I already posted in this thread but I wanted to go into a bit more detail.
I have a pair of Timberland Powerfit Pro Series waterproof hikers for my exploring adventures.

When it's around 0 or below 0 - suede dr. Martens boots. Yup, purple

In spring/autumn i wear puffy suede shoes. Ultra comfy.

At summertime - keds.

Anyways. I stepped on some barb wire of a barbwire fence and it went through my shoe into my foot. I needed some hiking boots so what are some nice ones with steel shanks?

This is where I've been shopping lately. Anyone need a bra? Or a single glove? You can find them there too ;)
