I think it's more of a urban cultural thing. In my highschool we had a black guy with a built 76 Nova and my buddy Zeb had a badass 85 Nissan 4wd pickup he lifted and wheeled the piss out of. I think it's like real estate. Location location location.

my dad painted one of this when i was a little kid... i remember thinking what a long walk around it! The one he painted was silver with the gangster red leather interior. The seats in it were more comfortable than the couch we had at the time.
