Posted by Cor726 even our negative history is fascinating to me and I feel it should not be forgotten. If we forget as a society our mistakes then we risk making the same mistakes over again. I also have deep respect for these locations – I come from the old school of exploring much like you.

I agree with all of this and I'm sorry if I've been harsh, but I still don't agree that visiting a place like that one should ever be "fun." I understand what you're trying to say with the word, but it's flip and dumb and the result of the pollution of your actual understanding of the place by the trifling dictates of 'UE'. Don't fall into that trap. You're in a position to actually be able to say something about the place, and you shouldn't just skip out on that because it's easier to post a bunch of generic photos of anonymous decay and say "hey, look at me UER forum! I explored and photographed somewhere cool." It's a narcissistic enjoyment, and one you shouldn't embrace.
