This is the second night he's been missing and still no call from a detective. It's unbelieveable. So we've been investigating ourselves. We've had several connections with his friends and have been told SO many stories. One story was they were going to Oklahoma. Another said Colorado 'Or something...'. So my husband went to the school today to hand out fliers to the kids. He didn't want to be creepy on school property, talking to kids and stuff, so he talked to the kids walking home that looked like they'd hang out with Forrest. After that, he asked a guy who lives near the school who was mowing his lawn. The yard guy asked if he played guitar. Charlie said yes, and he was carrying his guitar with him, according to some kid. So the guy points out a house where a bunch of young people live, and they all come and go after midnight. He said they keep to themselves, don't bother nobody... but they all play guitar and he see's a lot of young people go there with guitars. So we come back later and there is a white car in the driveway. We knock on the door 3 times, no answer. We hear a noise from inside.. i see someone peek out the blinds, but still no answer. Then I bang on the door, and some Shaggy look alike stoner walks out with a peanut butter sandwich in each hand. We explain who we are, and who we're looking for. He said, "Oh, I've never seen that kid before. He came up missing yesterday? Yeah.. that sucks. I'm sorry man... but you know how kids are. We really don't know what we're doing to our parents.. don't think about it." I said, "Yes.. I did the same thing when I was his age. At this point, we just need to know he's safe... Everyone is very worried. He doesn't need to tell us if he's not ready, but we have toknow he's safe and doesn't need help." The guy said he understood.. and took the flier and said he'd call us if he heard anything about the kid. This guy seemed weird to me, like he was lying. There was more conversation, but nothing interesting. It just seemed like a bad act. Plus, it took a long time to answer the door and someone looked out and saw us as soon as we walked up. So we went back around 10pm for a sort of stake out I guess. The garage door was open, they had a pool table and some other stuff... and then the guy was outside looking at the ground with his cell phone for something, then another guy across the street was doing the same thing. It was so odd. I'm not sure what they were doing, but then it looked like they were looking at us and they went inside and closed the garage door. I feel like he's okay, but one story we heard was that they were planning on getting a ride to Haltom City, then WALKING to Oklahoma! I suggested a road trip down 35 and stopping at the rest stops to post fliers. So there is my update. Tomorrow is a new day... I hope we get some good news.
Oh, and a private investigator is being hired. That should help.
Post by altariaI'm so sorry Happie! I can't even imagine what you must be going through. I hope you guys are able to find him and that he's safe. I think it's extra shitty that the school refuses to help. Seems to me like they should be more than willing to offer up whatever help they can possibly give. |
It's definitely something I never thought I'd feel. I'm not really 'worried' I have times of being very very sad. Now that it's for sure sounding like a run away situation and not an abduction, .. Well, I hope he's smart enough to not put himself into harms way. And as far as the school, the PI will be able to get info out of them that we couldn't. I know that's really sad.. his school doesn't have the best reputation for being a good school, though.
