	I won't explore with people who are under the influence, period. Putting themselves at greater risk for accident/injury puts me at greater risk. What exactly you explore does make a difference though. If you're wandering around something very simple with practically no extra risk there, it probably won't make a difference. But if you actually have to be counted upon to climb, watch your footing to avoid dangers, react quickly to avoid danger or being spotted, well, then being on anything is going to make you a liability. Whether you believe it or not, it does. The funny part is, people that advocate drinking and toking while exploring sound so much like the people who say "I can drive fine after a few drinks, don't worry about it"... It requires wisdom to understand wisdom: the music is nothing if the audience is deaf.

	woah, you guysd really do like Drama, someone dies in a sad, perhaps misguided, but still sad way, and your here arguing if it was coming to her or not. Why not pay your respects to the deceased and their family and friends, or hold your silence? So what if you don't believe in ghosts? I don't either, but two people out trying to have fun in a hobby similar to ours, one dies, and your cracking jokes at their fucking expense. ....We gave the fucking Taliban more respect then that. And while I hope none of you never have to experience the loss of a close friend in that kind of circumstance, I do hope you all learn a bit of respect and can postulate in your mind the grieving her friends and loved ones must be going though and from that, think a little before sticking up dim witted remarks. 	While I personally agree 100% with fedge and Jester in that drinking/drugs while exploring is the dumbest thing you could EVER do...I don't think we should let it take away from the tragic event which took place. Should she have been drinking? No. But she was. That doesn't make this accident any less tragic or take away from the fact that a woman died - regardless of circumstances or events prior, its a damn shame it happened. My thoughts are with her and her family/friends. Unit calling radio say again?

	It should also be noted that it hasn't been confirmed that either had been drinking. Even then, there's a difference between drinking and being drunk. Just something to keep in mind for people who are eager to believe that this only happened because alcohol was involved.

	And even if they had been drinking, while it's a stupid idea, it doesn't make their loved ones feel better, undo the loss of a life, or reduce the trauma for the police and EMS crews who had to respond to it, or her partner who had to witness it. ducky 999

	We all make stupid mistakes. Ever single one of us. All too often it isn't us who has to pay the price. We know this, yet it still happens. Because we are human, and we love, hate, and make mistakes. I won't tell anybody to do or not to do something. It is not my place, nor is it anybody else's here. Someone made a mistake and now they are dead. So it goes. Their family and loved ones hurt. May they one day find peace of mind. And as for us, may we all know and respect our limits. Now I'm going to get the fuck out and explore something. I recommend everyone else do the same. Don't waste your short life on this thread.

Good point. Although drinking while scaling roofs wasn't a good idea, (just my opinion), like I said earlier, she died doing something that made her feel alive. Just like urban exploration does for everyone here. Long live U.E.R.!

My points about drinking while exploring weren't directed at the deceased, the facts aren't in, and either way, an accident happened, I feel for those that lost this person. My point was, someone advocating drinking and toking while exploring is first of all, as stupid as drinking drivers saying thats fine.

As for dying while doing something you enjoy, obviously I've never died, but I've been in a few "inches from death" situations, and I can tell you, not once did I feel "if I'm gonna die, this is the way to go". Its not as glorious a feeling to be staring death in the eye as the movies make it seem...

	I don't know if anyone on here ever met Leah Kubic aka "heinous", but she was a Linux dweeb and Urban Explorer. It's sad that she made the fatal mistake of exploring while under the influence. 	It is indeed a terrible shame about her death. My condolences go out to her friends and families. Now in regards to people bickering about drinking/drug use while exploring. I for one dont think its a good idea to be intoxicated on anything while exploring, but i'm not against it. Obviously drinking and drugs alters your state of mind, but some people like intoxicants and some don't. Some can handle themselves better and some can't. People have their choices to do what they want while exploring and that in itself it was makes us all unique explorers. In my opinion people should save the beers and joints for after the exploring is done. Nothin' like a few cold beers after a day of urban exploration.
