Hi DiVaMoNKeY. I drove past Channahon Friday night on my way home from Braidwood. Saw quite a few abandoned homes east of the highway, just south of Shorewood. Did IDOT buy those people out? Some of those houses don't look very old.
I've also seen lots of places in Joliet I'd love to explore, but unfortunately, most are near high-traffic areas. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love to check out the old Joliet prison, and the less-often mentioned womens prison across the street from it. I know when they opened the park in front of the prison a few weeks ago, there were a lot of people asking about tours and such.

I believe that area is slated to become a business park (fancy name for a bunch of warehouses).

i actually posted a thread about that here about a month ago. i would check them out if you have the chance. one burned down a few weeks ago. they're putting a mall in there. the houses were moved out of about a year ago.
They are actually planning on doing tours in the Joliet prison very soon from what I've read in the Joliet Herald News. Joliet Iron Works also has a kick ass tour thru the forest preserve I know more about blood than you

i'll actually be home friday. i haven't had a chance to scout that yet, but my biggest concern (s) is it being right in the middle of a neighborhood, and the west side for that matter get the wunderwaffle!!!!!

Rockford West side is the Best side.....as long as you don't get spotted, robbed, beat-up, stabbed, dumped in the rock!

Castle school may be out, I have cased it pretty well and there is no easy access that I can find. We may just have to check out the old power plant behind the old lock factory
