If I was either a ninja or a jedi I wouldnt be asking about CADPAT

Its more of the stereotype ideal that I can't deal with. The debate is complete idiotic.

Regardless on how you think of is everyone here uses camo to an extent at least part of the time.. By saying camo I don't mean that everyone is decked out in tigerstripe and facepaint.. Shit as simple as overalls or a nice suit is all a form of camo.. not everything fits in everywhere, when you find a place you have to assess what attire will draw the least attention if it's a suit or a ghillie suit...

I still want to try a social engineering infiltration sometime....don a suit, carry a briefcase and try to make it to the upper levels/roof of a skyscraper. Sounds like the perfect camo clothing to me .

yeah, i always go with the 'Denim Dan' outfit, not only is it dark and blends in well, but it also is very resilient, and doesn't make me look like a ninja or a terrorist.

This is the way the world ends.

I'd like to get a set, but I'll just grow out of 'em quick, so el cheapo for me for now.

By the way, everything you needed to know about Cadpat and more;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadpat

You see it a lot living around the Defense buildings in the National Capital Region of Canada.

There are places I've been, and places I want to be but nowhere I won't go.

Invest in some time and make a ghillie suit! 100% camo form nightvision and the Human Eye. You can make a suit that can blend into short gut grass quit easily, it just takes some knowlage. Seach the net for every detail you will need. You can virtually run away and hug a tree and be 100% invisible from 10 feet away. you dont need to go out and spen 100's of dollars for some super cyber ammo. you can make a ghillie suit from a pair of overalls and a work coat and 30 dollars of burlap.

Also if you are trying to hide in the open, it is not your camo that will conceal you! it is your profile. Its not your jacket that they see, its your fourm in contrast to the ground. Eliminate the contrast, and they will not see you. you can fool nightvison and the normal eye in NORMAL cloths with the right movements and just a bit of injinuity.

Yea.. a ghillie suit won't do anything unless you know how to move in it.. and an easy way to make then is sew netting into the back of a set of BDUs then loop Burlap strips into it, that way your front will be clear to get to anything and into pockets and just lay down if needed.. Either way running around in a ghillie suit will just make you look like a jackass because everyone will see you, yes it breaks up the human form but everyone will notice a bush bookin across a field.. and going into it you should realize NOTHING is 100%

^^^ Cool.

Anyone have sites they like to get stuff from?

I got universal (cotton) and woodland (poly blend) digital pants from www.uscav.com I should get a hat and a shirt, just wondering if anyone likes any other sites better. I like the stuff I got from there so far though. I was worried because I packed all my gear and had nowhere to put my respirator...ended up fitting right in the pocket of my pants. Good stuff.

Also, anyone wear knee pads with the bdu's? Do you get actual kneepads or just jam some foam or something in there? Kneeling down to take photos is killin me...I think kneepads would help a lot.

Where are you trying to go? Unless its night time and i want to get into something undetected I stay away from camo. I've found that if you dress like you belong there it is your best camo.

I've got some standard woodland camo that I use at night, it's worked at least once before...my worry, however, is once I get out of the woods and into developed areas. How's woodland camo dyed navy blue tend to fare? I saw it on infiltration, I think, and it's an interesting idea.

Woodland camo dyed dark blue would be close to Subdued Urban.. which would be alot easier then trying to dye bdus a darker shade with blue dye

Yea I need to get some solid color BDU pants. I love the pants but the camo is definitely conspicuous in some areas.

Camo,

When going into abandoned industrial locations (ie Brickworks, Hearn), I use solid colour BDUs, olive green. However the term camouflage, is defined as

from dictionary.com The method or result of concealing personnel or equipment from an enemy by making them appear to be part of the natural surroundings.

It all depends on the situation, when I went into the the Royal York I was in Camo gear, tie, button up shirt, dress paint, laptop bag (just had my camera in it), and a nice over coat. See, Camo gear.

Thanks! A friend and I have recently become interested in taking part in UE, And have even just tonight investigated a potential location. This answered one of our questions on how to start UE-ing our area.

How much noise does canvas make?

As loud as a fat girl wearing corduroy but without the fire hazard.

i agree. also hightop shoes made of canvas can be stealthy, but in cases were water is involved they make loud squishing sounds
