| | Intro and old paint factory < on 11/27/2005 3:40 AM >
| | | Hey everyone.. first post.. First off.. how I found this site and stumbled across the concept of UE.. I was researching a site online in Atlanta a few days ago that is my personal Holy Grail of Holy Grails.. I've been interested in the site for years.. and a few weeks ago I was checking it out again with some friends.. and since then I've been trying to come up with viable ways for entry. This building has largely been abandoned for decades, but despite that it is still actually very locked up.. and in an extremely high traffic area. I'm actually dying to know if its in the LDB.. and if anyone has ever successfully infiltrated.. Long story short.. came across the term "urban exploration" on disinfo.com.. did some quick searching.. and came across this site. Lol.. I'm still kinda blown away that this is actually an "organized" sport.. I've been doing this on and off since I was a kid.. without ever coming across anyone else or ever discovering UE.. Here are some pics of an abandoned paint factory I did yesterday with a friend. Someone may recognize this.. could be in the LDB already.. I wouldn't know. Its kinda isolated and unnoticeable unless you were already in the area for something else.. so I kinda doubt it. From the roof:
Entrance to a courtyard:
Mystery goo:
10,000 gallon mixers:
Random seemingly purposeless opening:
An array of mixers:
Drainage:
Awesome operational scale supporting up to 1,000 lbs:
Failed boiler inspection:
One section was littered with the most random photos of stacked boxes.. so odd.
Lol.. some squatter's most prized possession:
Until next time:
The places is actually much larger than the pictures relate. A friend and I spent 2 hours just covering the grounds without ever backtracking. The industrial section is enormous.. and it is connected to an extensive administrative section. There are also several annex buildings as well. Anyhow.. sorry for such a long introduction. Its really exciting to have discovered such extensive community and support for something I was already passionate about.. blind to everyone else that shared like compulsions..

| | | Your "Holy Grail" looks like a certain fire catastrophe. Yes it is in the LDB but it is under a different name (and yes most of atlanta's crew has been in there). Atlanta has a large, yet tight nit group of explorers. PM me or DJMalign if you wish to meet up sometime. [last edit 12/4/2005 11:42 PM by Simian - edited 2 times]

| | | Welcome, good first post and maybe we can get together for some Atlanta exploration soon. I have been wanting to get up that way for a while.

Lol.. you bastards.. how recently has anyone been in? Two years ago it was much easier from what I can tell.. somehow the bums were getting in.. and also I know of 4 guys that took advantage of a storm damaged front window in '03. Haven't actually been in the area you saw in the pic yet.. not sure how secure either of the doors are. Also, the entry point above the AC unit looks boarded from the inside now. Seems more locked up now than before. I'll PM the rest.

| | | Your holy grail is literally almost impenetrable. We have the secret that we keep close to our chests. unless you climb the side of buildings or have our secret you won't get in. Edit: i'll be going there tuesday or wednesday. I need to shoot more footage [last edit 12/5/2005 7:54 PM by DjMalign - edited 1 times]

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time. Z.B.S. Halevi -- Kabbalah |

A clever person can figure this out using only Google and the information in the pictures. Good luck.
