Crowbars

who here uses a crowbar on a regular basis? I find them to be endlessly useful, just because a stout metal stick has many uses, but I generally leave mine at home because walking around with one looks extra suspicious, causing people to believe you're a vandalizing hoodlum, mad at the world and releasing your anger by pummeling old ladies, puppies and orphanages with a crowbar. on the other hand it's good for passing things (knapsacks, etc) over walls or on top of ledges, it can pry a manhole, it can be useful climbing, and sometimes defending yourself against your co-explorer with whom you found treasure, but then he went mad with greed and convinced that you were gonna turn on him and take the treasure for yourself, even when you told him you were gonna split it 50/50, and then you knock him unconscious. I've seen it happen.

anyways, who here favours the crowbar? who finds them too incriminating to bring on a consistant basis? who thinks they never put out another good song since "What a Rush"?Also, what do you use your crowbar for?

I used to carry one for spider-clearing and popping manhole covers from below. I decided it looked a little too suspicious, so I traded it in for an old adjustable wrench I used to use to hit people with. The wrench is better for hammering on the underside of manholes, is decent for spider-clearing and is GREAT for hitting people.

I have a small crow bar (about a foot long) that I use to pop manholes. It works great and its easy to conceal. I don't pack longer ones because you can't hide them as well.

I usually carry a crowbar along on scouting expeditions. Like you said, it has a million uses. I keep it in my backpack so no one can see it. Unfortunately, the one I carry with me is rather short so it can be tedious to open manholes with it, especially when you're on your own. Usually I have to use twigs and other thing to hold it up while I get better leverage. I also sometimes carry a small mallet for opening manholes from below.

I keep a crowbar under the passenger side front seat of my car. They really come in handy for manholes.

I use one sometimes, its a small one that i can fit in my backpack but i'm in perpetual fear that some cop will catch me with it (laws are a lot tighter here in the UK)

I have a nice solid one hanging in my closet, but I've yet to find significant cause to take it along. Not that I wouldn't love to put it to work. Maybe someday I'll find a tunnel filled with headcrabs. Who knows? ; )
