	I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one (as I prepare to throw blinding brick dust in your eyes..). A landowner does not need a reason to want to keep people from trespassing on their property. It is their's to do wish as they please, with or without a reason that we could only speculate (without talking to them). While we may claim a higher moral ground where we trespass without damage, the simple fact remains that we are no more legally allowed to be on a site, nor entitled to be on a site (private ownership assumed in this case), without landowner permission. Trespassing is trespassing. That we do not elevate the crime to vandalism does not alter this basic reality, however "moral". 	You are right. Unfortunately the legal aspects do not need to have any reasons or moral justifications. "No Trespassing" indeed means just that. I should know. I helped my dad put up "No Trespassing" signs surrounding our property when we lived 50 miles north of Toronto. We also had a sign "Cave Canem" (beware of dog in Latin). If trespassers didn't speak latin perhaps the barking of German Shepherd and Doberman would provide a quick lesson. But then we were living there and it would be most disconcerting to see people trespassing through. Especially weekend hunters blammo-ing anything that moved during deer season. Of course they got around that by just stopping their pickups along the roadside and shooting out the window. So yeah, "No Trespassing", at least in our case, meant keep jerks out. But I still think "No Trespassing" signs on unoccupied lands has a totally different connotation. i.e. they are meant to protect inanimate property and objects thereon. 	I'm struggling with this one. oldtimer and yokes are making good points. I enjoy looking around old abandonments, taking pics and disturbing nothing, and "No Trespassing" signs aren't really relevant to me, except in terms of my being arrested if I'm caught. I somehow feel that these places aren't wanted anymore, and the desire to keep me out is purely selfishness on the part fo the owners. That being said, I own property that isn't developed, and I have it posted "No Trespassing." The fact that someone might want to take a picture and damage nothing is the furthest thing from my mind. I posted it, and I mean for you to keep off. I have had deer hunters and partiers arrested for being on my land, while I have also been very lenient on people that I caught there who seemed harmless and weren't tearing the place up. Trespassing is against the law. If you don't destroy the place, you may get away with being there, but don't take the moral and ethical high ground by claiming a "right" to be there simply because you aren't being destructive. For the record, an individual desiring to take pictures of my land and my pond simply have to come and ask. A person looking for a place to hold a mini-concert needs to move along, because not everyone involved with the show will have any ethical standards at all. I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

	This is so way off topic and out of no where, but I've always wanted to go to a Brickworks party, I thought they were full of crazy e-kids and druggies, but I guess not? I know it's a bit late in the year, and quite cold but how often do these parties arise, and how can one find out about them?

It's never too cold to explore......well, unless your in stelco in the middle of winter....but stelco is gone now, so no worries there.
