I'm almost 50 years old so I've had a few nice/interesting cars in my day. There have been several times that I've said, 'I wish I had that car (or truck) back'. I usually say that after I hear how much they're worth now. My first car was a rusty '69 Impala with a big block, auto and hidden headlights. It turns out it was pretty rare. I sold it to a buddy's younger brother for $50 and a set of Cragar mags after the tranny went out. It was just another used car when I had it. As the years went by, some other cars of note were (in no particular order): '67 Pontiac GTO '66 Plymouth Belvedere '69 Chevelle SS '67 Plymouth Sport Fury '71 Buick Gran Sport There are others but, you get the idea. Before anyone says 'pics or it didn't happen', I doubt I'll be able to find pictures of these old cars of mine. If I did, I don't have a scanner to copy them here. If you can't take my word that's O.K. The real point of the thread is not me but cars that others wish they had back for whatever reason. On a side note: One of the reasons I UE abandoned farms is to find these old cars. I found a '65 Buick Riviera last year. It's still there. The farm wasn't exactly 'abandoned'.

it wasn't a Shelby, but the body was solid for an 86. bought it for $125.00... sent it to the crush when it kept burning power modules up.

I've been looking for a decent 1st gen Laser/Daytona out here for like 4 years now I owned 9 or 10 of them... about half of them were fucking excellent cars, the other half were total shit.

mine was a victim of discontinued parts... the hard plastic vacuum lines that ran from the module on the inner fender to the manifold, the one that the power module used for a referrent? Well, they were dry-rotted and were giving the module improper info and burning them up, as well as the logic module inside the car... i couldn't get replacement lines anywhere, so the car went to the crusher in the sky.

Mine was a fully loaded C/S. Leather and buttons galore. All original, with the exception of the front clip thanks to a six pointer. It was identical to this guys car- http://www.flickr....72157611325395423/ After I burnt up the 2nd turbo, I sold it for 100 bucks. In hindsight, the turbo just wasn't getting enough oil. Probably as simple the line that went from the block to the turbo. I wish I kept it until I had the money and knowledge to do something with it. I still keep an eye out, but they're beat to shit or people want to much money for them. I was on turbododge.com for a while looking, but they all think that because they put way too much money into their cars, its worth a million bucks.

I want my '92 Nissan truck back. The thing is that it's sitting in my back yard. I need a bed, a lot of cleaning, and registration for it. Somehow it feels like I don't have it anymore. Same with my Accord. Feels like I don't have it, even though it's in my side yard needing tires and a good shake down. I'm not one to get rid of cars. I usually keep them forever in some manner. I've only gotten rid of 3 cars in my life. A '92 Camaro, an '87 Accord parts car and an '89 Accord shit box. Scrapped the parts car, sold the '89 for $50, and traded the Camaro in during Cash 4 Clunkers due to its poor condition.
PM me if you want to get join our board and get fit! |
