Perhaps. Is there much left of it? I've been to a few of the MI sites and there has been very little left to speak of.

There seems to be a descent amount left to see at this one. Will probably not make the trip this weekend due to the weather, we are in for a steady all day soaker today.

Are you planning to go any other time soon? Most of these places are pretty easy to get around, so very little or no special equipment would be needed. Just basics, light, simple things, water.

Did you end up going this weekend?

I have seen in the forums these places mentioned once or twice and I have no idea what they are. Are they like the silo's in AZ.

smaller. Nike was an antiair defence, whereas the Titans in AZ and CO were ICBMs. Still worth checking out though.

do you know how to waltz?

I did not make it this weekend. The rain Saturday morning put a damper on things and by the time it cleared up I was elbows deep in other projects. Hoping to make a trip in the near future.

During this interlude where we're all patiently awaiting you intrepid explorers to explore & document here your traipsing around Nike Detroit 58/59 Launch site & the nearby two IFCs, here are a couple images of the 58/59 Launch sites, were I held a solemn ceremony, speaking a few words & launching a missile in remembrance of the troops who once fired off the missiles & shot down the invading Soviet bombers from that very site, thus saving Detroit's military-industrial complex.

Also keep in mind that the D-57/58 sites were built atop a former Naval Outlying Field (NOLF) for Naval Air Station Grosse Isle during WW-II:

/-/ooligan, as you clearly show, the Nike missile is an awesome sight to see take flight.
