| | Facebook used to catch graffiti artist < on 3/10/2009 12:19 AM >
| | | Selkirk RCMP have arrested an 18-year-old man who they say documented his graffiti spree on Facebook. The graffiti, which featured the same tag, started to appear last summer and photographs were posted on the popular social networking site, RCMP said Monday. A tag is the unique, stylized signature of the person who created the graffiti. RCMP received numerous complaints about the graffiti that could be found on bridges, signs and businesses all over Selkirk, a city 35 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg. The tag, which featured a bald-headed man with a toothy grin, also showed up in the nearby rural municipalities of St. Andrews and St. Clements. Const. David Obirek said investigators got a break after someone spotted local images posted on Facebook, he said. That made the RCMP's job much easier, he said. "The internet's global, so putting up any information, whether it be Facebook or other types of chat forums or informational-type forums — anybody can see it, including the police." A man from St. Clements has been arrested but he is not being identified because he was a youth at the time the graffiti was created, said Obirek.

| | | I feel like tagging ridiculous shit and documenting it on a myspace which I will keep public and only check from various library computers, just to email it to police stick a dick in their sides.

| | | Who would've thought you could get caught by the police for posting about your illegal actions on Facebook? Oh wait, I guess I better leave the group "People who expose themselves on public transportation."

| | | I have actually seen those tags on my friend's mailbox and a couple of other places where I dirtbike. Selkirk is the armpit of Manitoba so it doesn't surprise me that this happened. I have never seen more meth and crack use in any other town or city in this province. Its little wonder why the mental hospital is in the town. Me also, graffiti is definitely a gateway crime. First they're painting your fence, then they're selling a little bit of weed, next thing you know they've dug up granny and they're using her legbone to sodomise your down syndromed kid sister. Thank god someone, other than the pedos, is thinking of the children. [last edit 3/10/2009 8:19 PM by dsankt - edited 1 times]

| | | Agreed! Tagging: The Next Crystal Meth. Gotta love facebook.......the shit people make public, it almost reminds me of the terrorist in iraq who mailed a letter bomb and didn't pay postage, and when it returned to his house he opened it.
