| | Hi < on 2/1/2009 9:54 AM >
| | | Ok, so I'm not the best photographer, nor do I own the best of cameras, but I was recently introduced to the hobby of urban exploration by Ardamass and have some pics from it, sorry for the poor quality. I've mostly explored rural areas, I grew up in the country so my options were limited. Johnny Mnemonic and Ardamass took our friend Pat and myself out on one of their last draining expeditions and I really had a good time and can't wait to see more. So these first 3 pics are from a visit to Kidd Springs and the last 2 are from the chinatown area, this first one is a squirrel I made friends with, little guy came right up to me, so cute.
This is the first drain I've ever been in, it was quite impressive.
Ok, this one looked much better on my camera...
I really liked this one, maybe because this one didn't have sink holes or loose stones everywhere, I like to be sure of my footing, the other was still awesome though.
We had fun with lighting.

| | | Thanks for sharing the shots, they give a good idea of the places. How deep did you go into them? Can anyone tell me what the orange paint streak in the last picture is for? It looks like a surveyor mark, but I'm not sure why it'd be there. I've never been draining. I'll have to give it a try one of these days.

| | | The first drain we went pretty far into but we ran into a slight problem with hydrogen sulfide so we turned back. The second drain we went as far as we could until we saw a set of glowing eyes and raccoon tracks so we turned off into a side tunnel. We have every intention of exploring both again and hopefully going even further. Also, I have no clue what that mark is, I didn't notice it until I loaded the images.

| | | Hello, welcome to UER. I don't do drains much, but looks like an interesting one.

| | | Hey! Welcome to UER! I love seeing new people in the DFW area...
Your pictures are good... as I tell everyone, they don't have to be artsy to be good pictures. You also don't have to be a professional photographer to document some place cool to share with others... your pictures get the job done of showing us where you went and what you found and explored, which is awesome in my book. Thanks for sharing, and again, welcome

| | | Thanks for the warm welcome. I was going through some photos up here on Sunday and it gave me an urge to get pics, so I went on a quest with my little camera, I kidnapped Ardamass too, it was night and we went to a park, so here's some pics from that.
Btw, thanks Ardamass for being prepared with extra lights and for taking off on a whim to do a late night photo shoot, it was great fun.

| | | I love those tree photos! The closeups of the crazy trunks are very cool looking, and I'm always a big fan of large root photos! Nice work
