| | Nara Dreamland < on 9/23/2008 3:29 AM >
| | | Managed to sneak into Nara Dreamland, the huge infamous Disney clone in Japan that closed two years ago. Sorry about the low quality pics, but I thought some of you would like to see. Finally got caught by a security guard zooming around in his car.

| | | Great stuff! Were there dire consequences for your actions, or were you simply escorted from the premises?

| | | He pulled the car up next to us and said hurry up and leave please. Then he drove off, which gave us a bit of extra time to get a few more snaps. He then came back again as we were almost leaving and said the same thing. So, we didn't want to push it too far.

| | | Nice shots. Sounds like you got off easy. I like the pic of the fountains water system, would have never thought they were so complicated. Must have been one of those water jet shows.

| | | Cheers folks. After cycling around the whole perimeter of the park, we went straight up to the main entrance, which was to our surprise open! I think we were lucky it was raining and the security guard must have gone off to sit in his office. Not exactly stealthy but quicker than running I suppose. I want to go back as I missed the Jungle Cruise, water park and some other parts the behind the castle. [last edit 9/28/2008 8:13 AM by drzeus - edited 1 times]

| | | Love the pics...I went here in '98 when it was still open... It definitely had a Disneyesque vibe about the place. But so much more stuff to see now that its closed down. In my experience, (as a blonde 'gaijin') Japanese security guards are the nicest kind of security people I've ever encountered

| | | You are so my hero. I've been waiting for 'rotting' Dreamland photos for years now. These pics give me an abounded theme park hard-on. You sir, are my lord and savior. And next time I journey to Japan, I hope to take pictures of the rotting corpse of the INSIDE of that fake Matterhorn. Or the submarine ride. Or the cruise. Good god you're my hero.

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

Someone used these pics on another site? Man that sucks. I don't know how people can live with stealing other people's (obviously) hard work. Did they even credit you?
