| | | Here a few pics from an old RCAF station used in WW2 to train pilots. Its in Southern Alberta. Neat place but in the middle of nowhere. From a distance
One of the six hangers left (originally there were seven)
From the other side
Inside
An Office
I didn't go in the office, cause this is what the floor looked like from underneath.
The roof has seen better days
The photos aren't the greatest... I wasn't really going for the artistic stuff.

| | | Nice! Two of my favorite things are shadows and abandoned stuff. Oddly, this site often combines the two...
I’m quite positive that you’ve slept with someone uglier than me, and I’m sure I’ve slept with someone hotter than you. So let’s just call it a draw. |

| | | Great locatio, have been there many times. Shame to see another roof is coming apart. Have you been to some of the other abandoned bases in alberta?

| | | I tried to find anything related to the air force being there back in the day... but there was nothing other than the buildings themselves. Not a trace of the air force left behind.

| | | Sadly, only the buildings left now. Back in the 80's there was still some stuff kicking around but that is all gone now.

| | | Way to go on the photos, they are great. They actually show the place off and I can get an idea of what it really is like. Rather than a bunch of photos of wheelchairs and peeled paint that have all been photoshopped to the point where you're not really sure if the blue in the photo was actually a completely different color in real life. I hope this encourages you to keep taking pictures of the abandonment, rather than a wheelchair. I'll keep looking at them as long as you keep taking them.

| | | Thanks for the comments... Don't worry I can't stand the wheelchair and peeling paint shots either. I shot these with my Canon 40D. They haven't been edited at all, not even cropped. I used a sigma 10-22mm lens, and a Pol filter in shots 2 and 3. I was to lazy to put it back on for the other exterior shots.

| | | Nice work, that threshing machine dune crawler unit in 4 excites me. The upgrade to white wall radials on the back is totally Red Green Show

I am; can't really move to Vancouver and commute to Edmonton now can I. Now that I've seen the pics, this place looks stellar. Nice work Cap'n.

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn! |
