| | | Composite Feedback < on 8/17/2008 5:03 AM >
| | | Here are a few of mine that I'm looking to get some feedback on since I feel its not my best work, even though I was going for something interesting. I'm hoping that maybe some feedback will help me to visualize a better shot next time. Thanks for viewing (some of these pictures may have been posted previously, but I wanted opinions about these specifically) 0. Portal

| | | your angles are very distracting and do not do much for me. i would rather see that hallway or that chair straight on. it doesn't really make it different or original, it just makes the compositions poor. number four is cool, but i wish it was centered just a little bit more. but i really like the composition of it.

| | | 0. This is great! It should have been either tighter or further away, in my opinion though. Right now it seems way too centered. Not enough foreground maybe? 1. Composition and exposure are good, but its not too interesting of a subject... 2. I really, really like the angle on this. But perhaps it could have been tilted a little less so that your eyes follow the line from the center of the image more towards the corner instead of the side. It also looks a little out of focus 3. Looks good, but you can see the lens hood or something in the upper right 4. If you are going to do crazy angles you should adhere strictly to the rule of thirds to keep it from getting too confusing. This picture honestly does nothing because it looks like no effort was put into it. 5. Looks nice! 0, 2, and 5 are the strongest here, I enjoy them a lot

| | | 0,1 and 2 don't do it for me 3 almost perfect! It's a very little minor, but since you are asking for critique...the symmetry is broken by the corner of the window behind the left pipe. 4 i like these tilted hallway shots, but this one is a bit too much tilted - a little less would probably work better. 5 the angle wich you look at the chair is great! I love that. Though if you could take this without the window it would draw even more attention to the chair and would make more of a not noticable tilt.

| | | thanks everyone, i'm glad that you guys are so constructive with your feedback, i'm hoping to take into consideration what you guys have said. some of the reasons i picked these photos for criticism is because i felt their composition or angles needed work. i was a bit over-ambitious with the angles in that hallway, and those balls i've shot a few too many times that i'm looking for a new angle on them...this one didn't exactly work... anyhow, thanks for the feedback

| | | #1 is just kind of boring. the lighting especially. but i can see why you found it interesting, the bricks look like theyre flowing down the stairs. #3 could use a little more contrast? and #5 could maybe use a little less. the nearest arm of the chair is too light show any detail, while the radiator behind it is too dark.

yeah in #1 i really enjoyed that stairwell, i wanted to capture the bricks flowing, but like you said the lighting in boring i never thought of #5 that way, it makes more sense why it looks a little off to me. #3 i agree, maybe i should work on that one...
