| | Looking for UE in/around Seattle < on 2/18/2008 6:14 AM >
| | | Hello. I moved to Seattle this past summer and would like to get into UE. Last summer, before I moved, I was in Louisiana, where I grew up, and kinda came upon an urban explorer's dream opportunity. A friend and I walked past my old high school at night, and noticed they were in the process of doing some major renovations. We found a large hole knocked in a wall near what used to be the girls' gym. We entered through there. Toured through the old gym, through locker rooms and coaches' offices. All the lockers were open and moved around. Lots of weird stuff and wires hanging everywhere. Made our way into the main building. To our delight, every single door was unlocked and open. Went through stuff in the principal's office... played around in the theatre, went onto the roof, even made our way down into the boiler room, and shifted around a bunch of old artifacts (trophies etc) that were there for some reason. It was incredible. So that's how I got the bug. I'd like to join anyone who knows some really good spots around here. Preferably people who are smart about it. Also, I have a Canon 5D full-frame 35mm digital SLR and several fast lenses (good for low light situations) so can assist with photography. Thanks. Richard

| | | Welcome to the Pacific Northwest. You're in Seattle, just keep an eye out for abandonments then explore them. Keep it up and the more experienced people will see you're really interested. Aaron.

| | | Seems like Washington is a gold mine of paper mills and logging mills although most are a little far off from Seattle. Theres all sorts of stuff in and around Seattle you just have to keep your eyes peeled. -Tom
