| | | You gotta compose a lightpainted shot similarly to a natural light shot. You wouldn't take up 1/3 of the frame a featureless wall normally, don't do it in the dark either. Use a bright torch/flashlight to find the edges of your frame and help you compose. Try not to light up the foreground too much unless it's to highlight a specific features, else it just overpowers the rest of the scene to much. Also check your levels, the blacks are pretty grey.
