| | | What music do you like to listen to on the way to a location to get in the mood? Also, what music to 'come down' to? For me, some metal or Primus on the way in, some chill hip-hop or the Eagles on the way out.

| | | I listen to some Vera Lynn, Jo Stafford, Kate Smith, and if I'm feeling modern maybe a little Judith Durham. I find it puts me in just that right sort of reflective-maternal mood, underlaid with just the right level of Blitz-era determination to steel myself for the ruins I'm about to experience. Oh, you wanted a serious answer? This question has probably been discussed a few dozen times before. There's also a private forum devoted to music. I suggest you look there.

| | | Listening to some chilling Radiohead music puts me in a good eerie mood while I explore. I usually listen to something slow and soft with a creepy sound (Godspeed You Black Emperor works great for that). I think personally if I was listening to metal or something heavy and fast, I wouldn't be in the right mood to photograph.

| | | I listen to nothing, I want to hear if other (probably unwanted) people are nearby. I also use a radio for in-team communications if we get separated. Best get separated for maximum photography oportunities.

:< Anyway, when I (rarely) borrow my parents' car, which has a CD player, I listen to whatever I have burned on a CD. Metal, J-pop, super eurobeat, soundtracks of various series and movies... just the stuff I always play. Or radio, which usually plays shit though.

| | | Going in: Juno Reactor (a la Matrix movies) Or any of the RZAs instrumental stuff like The Ghost Dog soundtrack, Afro Samurai, or just his experimental tracks While inside: Sigur Ros, Opeth (The Acoustic stuff), East Hasting by God Speed You black Emperor. I prefer more reflective music when I'm inside. I find buildings have something to say when your in the mind set to listen, you can almost feel the spirit of the building talking to you. and for the come down, Massive Attack. Up beat, but mellow
We are going to inherit the earth . There is not the slightest doubt about that. The bourgeoisie may blast and burn its own world before it finally leaves the stage of history. We Are not afraid of ruins. We who ploughed the prairies and built the cities can build again, only better next time. We carry a new world, here in our hearts. That world is growing this minute. |
