| | | Well, I guess visitors are better than nothing. lol. There are some pretty cool locations around here. Lynchburg especially because the historic society here "protects" their buildings and history by letting them rot into the ground. Anyway, thought I would put the probe out just to check. If anyone is coming this way anytime drop me a PM and I would be glad to show them around.

| | | i come to md a lot to see family. and i am due to meet up with a friend who works at a mental health facility in the lynchburg area sometime in the next two months, so i very well may be down that way. and i have to shoot a model in charlotte (or charlottsville?) soon as well if that's anywhere near you.

Let me know when that develops, and I'll try to clear my schedule to be in that area too. I'd love to meet up with you again, even if briefly.

What did this poor model do to you? I know they can occasionally be annoying, but shooting them seems a bit excessive. *thinks* Well, maybe not... Depends on the model. Sorry, couldn't resist that attempt at humor.

| | | I'm actually moving back to Roanoke / Salem for about a month or so starting Sept 1st while I'm on medical leave. I should have most weekends free if anyone is looking to go exploring. First place I intend to hit up: Hotel Roanoke. I used to work there, and one day one of the guys in the Security dept. gave me a tour of all of the hidden rooms, etc. around the place. I'm gonna see if I can work it out to get another tour, this time with my camera.

So here's to responding to an old thread! I grew up in Roanoke (live in Richmond now), but there are some fun sites to go to in and around the city. I would recommend the abandoned motor court outside of town, I definitely swam in that pool as a kid: And the front desk: Old steel processing plant: X-ray machine from an abandoned medical clinic that burned up at least a decade ago:
And of course, the dying railroad: I've got some photos from a few other places around the area; sorry about the small sizeof these, I had to shrink them down to get them under the upload limit. My folks still live there so I go back fairly often and coming from Richmond, I pass right through Lynchburg. There are some places that I've scouted but haven't had the chance to go explore...

| | | Hey, I'm here in Ocean View, just down the street. I'm originally from milwaukee, and Explored everything there. Fister and Vogal, to Slova Coke Plant. My problem is I'm kind of new to the area, and don't really know all the hot spots to check out. Let me know if you have any inside word on something, I've seen some really cool pics from this area but, I know how it goes in giveing up any specific information.

| | | I'm not from the Lynchburg/Roanoke area but some of my relatives were. They lived in a community called Concord Depot. Can you tell me where in Virginia Concord Depot is? I can't find it on any maps. Anyone know of two intersecting routes in Concord Depot?..
