We saw the sign on one of the entrances that said that. I said the same thing you did... too bad they're going to make yuppie lofts, but I guess its good the building will be saved. Whats really strange to me is the location of the lofts. That entire town seems dead. Who's going to live there? I didn't think the town folk were 'trendy' enough to live in a place like that.

From what I read in the paper, it's actually going to be tailored for more moderate incomes. That downtown area is primed to explode in the next couple of years. The city has passed bonds to renovate the convention center and a Houston firm is about to break ground on a 60 million dollar mixed use project closer to the river. "Better times are a comin'..."

| | | I don't know much about the town, I go down there a couple of times a year and spend the night, do some messin' around. Its an ok town to visit, from what I've seen. But I don't usually stay there long enough to really find out much about the place.
