| | | Ship graveyards? < on 5/30/2007 8:33 PM >
| | | I will be taking a trip to New Orleans in a couple weeks and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some ship graveyards off the coast of Louisiana or possibly Mississippi. I tried using Google earth to locate some but was unable to. I'm sure there are probably some around that area but I can't seem to find them any help?

| | | That link seems to to be more about fully sunken ships. What I was hoping to find is more like this: http://www.opacity.us/site55.htm. I'm not looking for a handout here, just a general location where there are some partially submerged ships. We will only be in the area for a week so we don't really have time to drive the coast if there is nothing to see. Thanks, j.

| | | I'm interested in this as well, more so on the Texas coast though. I know in ports there's stuff like this piled up, not so sure out in the middle of nowhere. I think most abandoned ships are now drug out for scrap or reefs.

| | | You may want to look at the S.S. Selma, it is in Galveston just off the coast of Pelican Island, it is a concrete ship built around 1919 and abandoned in 1922
