That's just PLAIN STUPID.

In fact, that's one of the dumbest thing I have ever read on UER.

Paintballing a security camera will just result in increased security.

stupid.

You are rushing to judgement with FAR too much Hostility. The word "stupid" could cause reciprocity you dont want.

The Paintball gun is used by police forces all over the world to distort the view of a camera that might be exposing their position in a Standoff.

I am telling you from someone who has cleaned paintball residue off of cameras, for customers. I am not trying to brag, because I've said it a hundred times already on this forum, but I breathe security electronics. Dont test me.

Does somebody smell smoke? I think I see flames!

That did seem a little harsh, Mickael!

NightOps, just because the police use the paintgun technique doesn't mean that it's a good idea for us to use it.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't like to limit my imagination and creativity to what "reasons" you would use a technique, I am trying to develop business plan around a weekend adventure program where people will pay to be put into scenarios like you see on movies, with all sorts of airsoft weapons and surveillance electronics, they follow basic scripts, and will rely on their own shooting and thinking to complete the course. throughout different environments such as Urban, Forest and Marine Scenarios, Advanced courses could involve certified scuba diving and such.

eventually I would try to move to a tropical region and setup million dollar elaborate scenarios, but you need investors for that...

It'd all be filmed on Sony Handycam and they will get an edited DVD of their mind blowing experience!

I like the way Night Ops thinks. I wouldn't employ too many of these techniques for exploring, maybe a heist or something. And on the other side of the coin, they would be VERY useful in a SWAT situation. The guy isn't afraid to think outside the box and is just throwing ideas out there. It's this kind of thinking that we need. Maybe not exactly what he's saying, but the ability to ignore the obvious and come up with a new plan, that no matter how far fetched, just could work. And that is by far not the stupidest thing I've ever heard on UER. I still have never had to use anything that high tech to get into some place, but his line of thinking is in the right direction. At least he's using his brain instead of sitting on it.

I'm not as desperate as to use a paintball gun but it's a good tip none the less. But most urban explorers wouldn't use it.It's more for a heist kind of setting.I'm definitely leaving the place anyway.I was aiming for too high a site. Its fully boarded up to the 2nd floor with cameras on all the corners. Not likely.

Cameras on the outside can only see on the outside. There has been more than one building with outside cameras and no inside ones because nobody looks up.

NightOps, I've come across a lot of posts by you in the past week doing research and I'm always impressed. What more detail can you bring to the magic eye and to security cameras in general? Best ways to avoid them (blind spots obviously, as well as scouting them out as mentioned), which ones would generally use some sort of "night-vision" and how effective that really is, etc. etc. Do share some more info! Cheers!

Thanks for the interest... I have lots of fun de-constructing the systems I install, to find their weaknesses, I have even offered to break into buildings to show customers how their systems can be comprimised (sort of like that goofy tv show "it takes a thief").

It's earned me installation contracts on many of occasions... Lemme know whatchya wanna know!!!!!
