| | | I drove Right up to the Gate, out at the antenna farm. There were signs the whole way up that said, no unauthorized vehicles. the gates were open and you would tell they haven't been closed in at least a year or two. The road looks like its got lots of traffic. Also there was a canada flag flying at the building. The person i was driving with was too chicken shit to drive past the gate. so i don't really know. And the internet isn't proving to be useful.

| | | If there is still a flag, it is still very much active. It may be open, but that doesn't mean you're not violating the NDA, a serious offence even in the pre-9/11 world. I have info on 44 known active and decomissioned pinetree radar sites, that I won't post until I'm a full member tho. nuthin fer nuthin you know, and I can only access like 3 sites in alberta with my access level. All three I've been too lol. http://www.forces....ection=2&sidecat=8 if you want the basics and directions to the mill cove site [last edit 9/5/2006 11:45 PM by dakotaray - edited 1 times]

Is this the info on the Pinetree Line sites you speak of? If so it is an easily found website so I dont think its too big of a secret anyway. http://www.pinetreeline.org/ [last edit 9/6/2006 9:46 AM by N250cc - edited 1 times]

If you would have read my other posts, I already included that link and a link to the map provided on that site. I was refering to first hand experience having lived on four of the bases in question. Know how to get into the old 42 radar facility in Cold Lake? How about the mica mine just north of Lowther (which btw, if you have never been there, you would probably not find, Lowther was destroyed in the mid 1980's, the mine closed somtime in the late 60's early 70's, the old munitions bunker in what was formerly CFB Penhold?) Maybe a little more research on what someone has said/not said is in order before you start spouting "it's no big secret"? [last edit 9/6/2006 11:19 PM by dakotaray - edited 1 times]

| | | And BTW, if you had done a little more research, you would find CFS Mill Cove is an aviation radar and communications relay station for atlantic strategic defence, and WAS NOT a pinetree station. [last edit 9/7/2006 12:50 AM by dakotaray - edited 1 times]

sorry there N250cc, long day at work, I was outta line. They have huge amounts of info on that site for anyone interested in looking! And I noticed I didn't post it in this thread so there was really no way to know I had posted it elsewhere. And BeaverBanker, they are all over canada. Lowther was nothern Ontario, Comox & holden is BC, Penhold and Cold Lake are Alberta. Again, my appologies N250cc, shouldn't let a shitty engineer ruin my evening as well as my day and again I was outta line with the snappy reply. | | | Beav - Information for you: CFS Mill Cove is still an active relay station - if you can all a "remote" facility active. I cannot offer any idea as to whether there is any personnel on site monitoring or not - snoop carefully. Good history here: http://jproc.ca/rrp/mc_mill_cove.html
Tell me what to look for - I will find it. |
