| | | I like going during the day. Better photo opps, better visuals, easier to see where you're going, etc. Nightime is okay but then security can see your flashlight very easily. Also nightime is when the firebugs and kids come out and I hate that shit.

| | | Posted by Horus I do mostly day explorations (in fact, the only time I explored at night was when me and my dad snuck into an active Basketball stadium), just because I can't stay out late. Besides, I like being in a drain and seeing light from a grate or something far up ahead. I'm pretty sure you can only steam tunnel late at night though, because workers go down there during normal hours.

I had that problem before,I just sneak out now when i want to go UE at night...

| | | Sorry RedReaper, I shouldn't have generalized that comment. I've met some very cool younger folks out UEing and I should've been more descriptive with my rant. The kids I was thinking of at the time of my post are the unprepared school idiots with no flashlights, sandals, giggling frightened fools, even private-school uniforms. I've encountered all of this and more and it makes me cringe inwardly every time I think about it. If I hear "which way is the morgue" one more fucking time, my head's going to explode. I'd go UEing with you anytime bro.

| | | Thats cool man. I don't really do draining (more into extremely active sits like the motor pool behind my local gas and water dept! I'll be adding that soon to the D but I understand how the annoying smacktards make you want to exercise the pimp hand. Thanks for correcting yourself.

| | | If it's a low-risk area, I prefer night for the mood it sets. Otherwise...night if the danger is in security/being caught, day if it's anything else like structural safety of the location. I'd choose day for infiltration of active sites, as it's easier for me to look innocent and lost in daylight.

| | | late comer here... just putting my two cents in. i only go at day! 1) cuz i'm chicken and am literally scared of the dark (and zombies...if they were to ever really exist) 2) you can see more of the building 3) flashlights are good way to be spotted by the people you don't want to be spotted by...and most places I go have windows/large open areas.

| | | I like to explore both at night and day! If I had to choose I would say day, because you get to see details that you would otherwise miss in the cloak of night. I still like the feeling of running around at night, everyone else sleeping and you running around in ruins.

| | | UE in the day, or at night? <Reply # 28 on 6/19/2006 9:02 AM >
| | | I was wondering what the consensus of opinion was regarding whether it is better to explore during the day , when you can see what you’re doing and where you are but, you run a bigger risk of detection, or is it better to explore at night where your risk of detection is lowered but it’s harder to see things. You will of course, cancel the whole nighttime advantage though if someone sees your flashlight, something else I often consider. [last edit 6/19/2006 9:03 AM by CaptOrbit - edited 1 times]

| | | I prefer to go during the day. Better photographs, better vision. While night has anonymity, can you imagine if you DID get caught. The very fact that it WAS at night makes it 10x more suspicious.

| | | Definitely during the day. I like being able to see my surroundings without always having to resort to flashlights. There are a few locations that I've only been willing to explore at night, but they are few and far between. For the most part, if a site does require a nighttime entry/exit, I've just gone in before dawn, and then waited 'til light before starting the exploration.

| | | Just yesterday I walked right into a certain factory in broad daylight. I had my camera, a big flash, and I dressed in a nice shirt and pants. I'm sure lots of people saw me going in. Daylight is fine for most places, as long as you're not a ninja.

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time. Z.B.S. Halevi -- Kabbalah |
