| | where to start? < on 4/26/2006 4:58 PM >
| | | I'm new to urban exploring and was wondering if anyone knows of places to check out around canmore or banff. I've heard of some abandoned hydro plants but don't know where they are. I go in to Calgary on weekends alot so I could check out some spots there if anyone has some suggestions.

| | | Self reliance will earn you huge respect in the Alberta Community. If someone goes and explores a few things on their own accord and maybe even comes to a pub meet, invites to events have a way of happening. I bet there is an explorer in UEA exploring somewhere nearly every single day. We do not wait for others to invite us, we just get up and do it! Get up, go out and explore right now. There is nothing stopping you. Honestly, there is not. I dunno about abandoned power plants but there is an entire ghost town just outside banff. There are even big green signs on the highway tellng you where to go. I will not provide any more hints as I think the federal government has done a good enough job. There is UE EVERYWHERE. I can prove it. and sometimes the least assuming UE can be the most fun. And isn't having fun the point? I got lost in a broom closet in Banff once, had a blast. You be glad you did. . . by the time you finish that cookie you feel right as rain.
If you ever come to Calgary then email [email protected] and you'll be made welcome, taken to locations and given free accommodation. We'll help save you the $$$ you spend on the flight over here :) |
