| | | | Greesebah military base was situated between 97th and 137 i believe, it was a military base which I lived near when I was growing up. It was decommissioned around 6 years ago when Anne Mclellan the liberal minister of defence centralized the military services to the Namaio base further north of edmonton on 97th. I have been on the base twice but the security at the time was extremely high with MP patrols . It was sold around 3 years ago to a developer who is turning the property into townhouses as can be seen on the eastern 97th street portion of the base. To my knowledge there was a big cement shooting range on the western castledowns side of the base but I'm not sure if that piece is still there.

Seriously, though- we've all been so many times. I think it's all demolished now, unfortunately. Issue #2 of our little exploration magazine, 5100 features an in-depth article on the base.

| | | | Yup a real loss that was. We had so much fun exploring the dozens and dozens of buildings there over those few years. All that remains is the abandoned jail (at least last time I checked, back in November)
The Jail is cool but such a shadow of the former glory that was Wonderland.
The UEA site has hundreds of pics of the place by about a dozen different explorers.
