| | | Hello, My name is Isaac Baker and I am a reporter with the Carroll County Times. I cover the southern area of Carroll County, MD, where the Henryton Center is located. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to speak with me about their experiences/visits to Henryton Center. I'd love to do a story about this type of interest in the place. Some of you may be worried about talking to a reporter. I assure you, you don't need to be. We can talk about arrangements and what I can publish and what I can't if you contact me. My email address is [email protected] I hope to hear from some of you soon. Thanks.

No offense, but I have yet to read a UE-related article where the reporter hasn't written the story to make it out as a super-secret society or a gang of vandals. And also the location(s) mentioned in the article usually become a hotspot for every lunatic and cop in the area that hasn't already heard about it. UE is about seeing things that are out of the public eye, so exposing them in the news kills them.

We back on the way home from another asylum last week. Found the "morgue". It IS is a really weird place for a morgue but I can't thing of any other reason to have a freezer in that shape. After seeing it, My vote is that it is a morgue.

but if thats the morgue, then why are there no railings or supports for the sliding tables. theres not even any evidence of any rails existing. also its deeper than a human body. and lastly they wouldnt put it where you had to walk right past it to get to the cafeteria. but i cant give any explanation for doors lke that on a freezer.

| | | Well, my theory is that the kitchen wasn't always there and that it was converted in the sixties after the facility was converted from a TB hospital into a mental hospital. I haven't been there in a long time but I had thought that the depth of the room was about right for bodies.

Very good theory, I endorse it fully. In hospitals like Henryton you have to take into account the massave changes it went through in it's lifetime. Since it began as a TB Sanitarium, there had to be a morgue somewhere. The freezer in question is the only thing even close to a morgue so logic dictates that at one time this room as used as a morgue. There is another reason for freezers to have that shape. You frequently find them in food-prep areas of very old industrial kitchens. They are made for easily accessing trays on food on "speed racks". The trays are loaded onto the racks, wheeled into the cooler, and utilized when needed by pulling the trays out through the smaller square doors on the front.
