What? I'm not supposed to be here?
| | An abandoned house in Burnaby. < on 6/23/2005 7:16 AM >
| | | Well, more properly I guess, it was an abandoned lot with 3 buildings. 2 houses and 1 garage. I don't know anything about it other than it looks like it's being cleared out. I figure it'll be demolished pretty soon. I checked out the property a couple of times and got a chance to go there with my friend Lazlo on the weekend. We got into 1 of the houses and the garage. We only got pics of the house we went into. We got out of the garage pretty quick, there was some nasty smells in there, a combination of molds and chemicals. It actually caused me to double over and throw up as soon as I got out of the building. Next time a respirator will be in order. I know, all my fault. With a sign like that, how could we not go in :)
It was hard to find a way in though :)
Looking into the bedroom from the kitchen.
The main room.
A bedroom, with a door that would lead outside, other than it being boarded.
I don't think the spray cleaner will be of much use now.
The front door and the disaster in front of it.
Nice kitchen 'eh?
The bathroom could use a little re-modeling too.
And of course.......
The pics kind of suck, we ended up using some disposable cameras as Lazlo couldn't find his digital camera... Cheers! -PoT [last edit 6/23/2005 7:35 AM by PoT. - edited 2 times]

Slightly off topic, but that is the type of sign that should be out there and how the laws would make far more sense. No violators will be prosecuted crap for trespassing on an abandoned/derelict structure, just the simple statement that if you do go in and get injured or die, it's 100% your own fault... Nice place, when do you move in ?

| | | Well...my real estate agent would call it 'a real fixer-upper.' It requires a 'gentle touch.' It's in need of some 'TLC.' It's a 'handy-man's dream.' Seriously.

I agree. Another place we went to recently (with the same disposable cameras) had a sign saying something to the effect of "Warning no unauthorized admitance - 24 hour monitored video surveilance" The pics mostly turned out like crap though. I'll post a couple after photoshopping them to make them look usable.
Nice place, when do you move in ?

Depends when I can get some help to move, any volunteers? Cheers! -PoT

Like this display of signage. All those video cameras, watching our every move. I like the "go inside at your own risk" signs best - they don't insult our intelligence by fibbing about fake video cameras.

I don't think it was a meth house. I could be wrong, but there was no "lab" equipment that I saw. It looked, at least to me, more like it was abandoned 'cause the place is gonna get levelled. Cheers! -PoT
