| | | http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/ Don't know how many of you here have actually heard of this or used it, but basically its satellite images of the whole globe (not realtime) taken I'm not entirely sure when. It can't be too long ago, because it has pictures of a walmart put up by me only about a year ago. It's possible to zoom in all the way down to your neighborhood and see some really cool things, including roads and possible entrance locations and such for UE (Although not too specific, because it doesn't get too close, more like roadways and such). When you're using the program I suggest you go into USGS Urban Area mode (One of the buttons at the top), as it gives the best visual results. Although not every area has been photographed, a good majority have, including my entire state pretty much.
That's my house, crappy example image.

| | | I have a subscription to google's Keyhole software and I use it all the time for "exploring." I used it to create a huge photomosaic of the Scajaquada Creek drain system that I put in this article: http://buffalog.co...re=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 Great stuff for spotting locations to check out in person.

| | | WHY MUST IT TAUNT ME SO The original download from NASA was corrupt -- so I tried Torrent, the installer works but then at about 90% done it craps out with this message. For those who have gotten it working, where did you download it from? [last edit 3/16/2005 4:43 PM by Servo - edited 1 times]

| | | I was installing to my D drive. The C drive is nearly full. So even if you tell the installer to install to D, apparently it extracts EVERYTHING onto C, then moves it. Absolutely brilliant. So if you don't have enough free space on the system drive, it won't install even if there is enough free space where you're actually installing it to. Don't blame NASA though; this seems to be a problem with the Nullsoft installer. Which means I blame AOL.

CHeck your system variables in XP - there should be a variable there called TEMP that points to somewhere on your cdrive - modify that entry to point at a folder on your D drive and those apps should explode themselves there instead of on C:.

| | | grr I've downloaded this program through Bit torrent, but now it won't instal, tells me I need Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. So I download this thing and it gives me an error when I try to install it. So I thought I'd try it through Windows Update, but that gave me the same damn problem. It doesnt even tell me whats wrong, just says the setup has failed. Any help?
