Posted by brokenbits Yo! It is true that a lot of the iconic places of Atlanta aren't really around anymore. For the past decade, Atlanta has been undergoing a revitalization effort turning all the cool old abandoned industrial locations and such into modern developments. See Ponce City Market built from the 1926 Sears Facility for example. As far as the well-known locations go, the Atlanta Prison Farm is still there, but it has wayyy to much security to feasibly explore. But cool locations still exist if you look for them. If you just drive around the right parts of the city, you'll stumble across some fairly cool places. Definitely go with a buddy tho if you're gonna explore abandoned places in downtown that you're not familiar with; some of the bandos are a bit sketch. If you're doing research online or want some relatively safer locations, there's some cool places in the surrounding suburbs that aren't hard to find information on.

Tbh I would stay out of ATL, there's not much there. If you want abandoned houses and schools, check out Griffin or other rural areas.
