Posted by OpenHouse I like them all a lot, but is it really the compositions that are excellent? I feel like the strong handle on lighting and colour is what makes these photos amazing. The compositions are all good; with heavy points of interest centred or in one of the 3rds. Some have interesting repeated close up patterns. Really nice to look at. But I don't think they tell me how I'm supposed to feel about the place. Is it pretentious to say they don't "move" me? I'm curious to understand why these compositions in particular jump out to so many. Really cool photos.

I don't photograph places to evoke a mood. It's more of documentarian approach as a portrait of a room or something that interests me. These places to me are not creepy or spooky, they are beautiful buildings, filled with wondrous things, no matter their size.
If a viewer takes something out of them, it should be a unique experience, not one dictated to them by a story. At least that's how I feel about my photos.
Thank you for the compliments, I hope that sort of clarifies it from my end at least. I can't speak for others as to what draws them to the pictures.
