A few months ago I took a little trip out to a West Virginia town like I do every year. There's an abandoned hotel restaurant and gas station right in the middle of town with a nice park behind it and a great parking lot. It's just as active as any public space. Every year I take a little look around to kill some time, but there have never been any entrances until this year. I found a little plaque in the gas station calling this a travel plaza, which was kind of a surprise to me comparing it to modern travel plazas.
Enjoy the pictures
1. Waiting for the parking lot to clear a bit so I could make my entrance.

4. The light from these windows made shooting very difficult.

6. In the hardware section. While it's normally cool to find light tubes not smashed, this place had them sitting on a shelf for sale. I thought that was kinda funny.

9. The mold was terrible, especially back where the drinks were.

16. All of the alcohol was empty, but everything else was till there.
17. Beds still made,
18. soap still wrapped.
19. Beds less neat, but everything else in perfect shape. I sent this to a friend and he didn't even realize it was abandoned.
