I mentioned a couple weeks ago in a thread that I was going on a short cruise. Well, I went! I did some research on places I could explore in the areas I would be stopping in. I was only able to do one explore which was during our stop on Isla Cozumel, Mexico.
An abandoned resort outside the main town, hidden in bush between two towering resorts. I did a little digging. From what I could pull up, the buildings I explored were part of an old resort. Half of the property was bought up and developed into a new hotel while the other half was left abandoned.
When I was walking through the barren structures, I wasn't sure if this was one of the abandoned resorts I saw that people believed was abandoned after extensive storm damage. It certainly looked that way. Perhaps seaside winds have contributed somewhat to its decrepit state, or it's an intricate balance between human destruction and
that of nature.
The building closest to the beach side. One of a few:
This structure housed hotel rooms, each one with large openings facing the sea:
The bush surrounding the buildings had this interesting cement pipe work:
Who wouldn't enjoy a poop with a view like that?
A forgotten child;
Finally, time to sit...
Hope you liked this set as much as I had fun shooting it. Remaining photos from this explore plus others from my trip are on my
