Here's a good example of an explore where the risk-to-reward ratio may have been a little uneven. This little farm sits in the middle of a cow pasture, well away from any roads and with the only driveway leading right past the active residence. Getting to it required me to shimmy under an electrified livestock fence and walk about half a mile through the pasture, with portions of the walk in the direct line of sight of surrounding houses. It turned out that the cows on the property had recently calved - right next to this house. I'm not entirely sure of the situation in this part of the country, but I know that out west, approaching a rancher's cattle is a huge no-no. Nevertheless, the exploration continued, but despite the antique furnishings and building methods, and the all-natural decay which we all love so much, there wasn't anything particularly special about this place that made it worth the effort of getting to it. I've known about this place for a good four years now, and I'm glad that I could cross it off my list, but I still shudder to think what could have happened if an irate cattleman had rolled up as I was inside. Was it worth it? You be the judge.

Worth the risk? In hindsight I would have to say no. BUT, you never know until you get in the place how it's gonna be inside. And due to it's location you can't just pull up out front and take a quick peak through a window.
At the end of the day you satisfied your curiosity, got a few good shots and most importantly did not get a gun pointed at you by a angry farmer!

Me and a friend have spent quite a lot of time driving backroads this winter looking for abandoned houses. Unfortunately several promising ones are similar to this place. House is not in use but the surrounding farmland is. Makes for a sketchy explore that's for certain.

Rural buildings like this with so much history are my absolute favourite!! These pictures are so beautiful! I do a lot of road trips in the country where I just drive and look for houses like this one. Such a beautiful find! Nice

I too, would of been tempted to take the risk to see for myself also. I love old farm houses and the stove alone makes this risk worth it for me

Reminds me of a time a few years ago where we narrowly avoided an angry old farmhouse owner...the adrenaline rush getting out of there was terrifying to say the least...we literally tucked and rolled beneath a gate and hopped into my car and sped off zig-zagging up this road and that until we shook them.
I actually put my car in the garage for quite a spell and drove my truck until I felt enough time had passed to bring it out again
