| | | Posted by Dee Ashley About how big is the location? I'm curious because parts of it seem very diverse and untouched while other parts look shot to hell (perhaps it was the demolition half completed)? I feel like it's not a huge location, but... am I wrong? Cool photos, at least you got to document the place before they raze it.
| You're right, there is more than just one area. There is a lot of ground they have to cover, and they've only just started. I have been documenting the block plus that is being demolished for this development. You can see my pictures here, still have many more to upload: http://www.uer.ca/...ow.asp?locid=32667 Posted by bandi I think I'm the only one happy to see this place get leveled. It was such a dump, even 25 years ago. It was like a no-name dollar store you'd see in some mall that's about to get shut down, but everything was more expensive and everything was sticky.
Having said that, awesome photos and I bet it was a cool exploration!
| I agree the store itself was a pretty big shit hole, especially in my lifetime, but I don't think total demolition was the best way to go with this area, and nor did the residents of the community. My preference would have been to gutting the store, developing some of the gaping parking lot behind it, and maintaining it as an artisan and local shopping flea market kind of scene.
