a well-traveled plantation - Thread - Urban Exploration Resource

a friend told me about an old farm that he had heard about, tucked away deep in the suburbs.

we expected it to be a farmhouse and a barn, but it ended up being a much larger operation; multiple barns, several houses and utility sheds, and a manor.
it ended up being apparently fairly well-known by the nearby neighborhood: people would take their dogs for walks by the houses, and there was a handful of graffiti, along with some Airsoft bbs.

the park service had (according to the groundskeeper) started doing night patrols through the grounds and put up cameras (there were signs, but we never saw the alleged cameras themselves) to stop people from entering the buildings. apparently, some kids had made several visits, and they set fires or threw things through windows each time. because of this, the two smaller living quarters, the largest barn, and the manor were all tightly boarded up. disappointing, but still a neat site regardless.

will come back and take more pictures at some point. definitely need to get a wide angle, someday. ^^'

in honor of the buck that we ran into while still in the nearby neighborhood, and followed to the plantation when he ran off the pavement into a side path we wouldn't've seen.
