Abandoned Church/House < on 8/8/2017 1:13 AM > | Reply with Quote
A week ago now, my friends and I went on a camping trip to Tobermory and passed by a lot of abandoned places on the way. I didn't get a chance to sneak around on the way up but coming back I spotted a place about 1-2 hours outside of Waterloo. Unfortunately my phone battery died while I was exploring so I couldn't get that many pictures, but it was probably for the best since I didn't have a mask and the asbestos was abundant. I also apologise in advance if the formatting of the post is weird, I've never really done a post here of my own findings.
I'm not really sure if the place was an old small church or a home due to the strange lot size and layout inside. There were also two abandoned vehicles on the property and I couldn't identify the year of them due to my lack of car knowledge but from what I saw, most things in the building were from 1965-1999. I can only assume the place has been abandoned for at least 25 years and it didn't look like any squatters or animals were living there either.
This was the first of the two vehicles I saw.
This car was more interesting and the most interesting part was the hood of the car. It was propped open with vines growing through the engine and a homemade (I think?) doll sitting inside. The lighting was pretty bad but the features on the doll look as if they were drawn on with fabric marker.
From here on out are pictures of the small main floor and upper floor. I had to walk over a lot of trash to get anywhere. My phone died as I went into the basement. The basement looked rather big and had a blocked off door and random things from mostly the late 1990s including a Winners catalogue. There were what I believe to be two rooms in the whole building that I couldn't get into and they could have been a small kitchen and bathroom?
I never saw a clearly defined bedroom but there were mattresses and bed frames thrown about on the upper floor. I also didn't see much of a main floor or what I could call a living room. If anyone has any insight on what the building may have been that would be helpful.

On my way back from Meaford last weekend, driving along highway 26 I noticed a plethora of abandoned spots. Anybody with a car and some determination could probably see through a dozen locations in a day up there!
