A Cold Day for Asyluming

I went to this asylum on a freezing cold day after convincing a friend who explores shipwrecks that there are also great places outside of the deeps. It was bitterly cold and we had to keep moving. My previous attempt was stopped due to tours being held so it was great to make it this time around. Maineurbex gave some tips on the site (thank you again!) and it is starting to feel like there's now a tangible and active community in our state as urbex grows. These are my first edited exploration pics on the forum.

Vined Windows

The Old Piano

The Other Room

Next Stop on the Gurney Journey

Room of Doors

The Hall

The Corner

Sit and Stay a While

I am thoroughly envious of you getting into a place this neat.

Thanks. I'm an asylum and crypt nut, but I've been enjoying your stuff. Really industrial. Sadly these places are fading away fast.

That piano is beautiful, and Vined Windows and Room of Doors are excellent shots! Did you happen to catch the make of that typewriter?

It's a fun place for sure. Haven't been here in a long time. I'm a complete dick (at least I acknowledge it) but in my honest opinion don't get too HDR crazy.

Thanks everybody. HDR is usually something I avoid but the lighting allowed some nice shots to work with. I've noticed a recent flood of HDR and have pretty mixed feelings on it still. I didn't catch the typewriter, but I will next time around ^.^.

Your photos are beautiful! I love the lighting in the 2nd and 5th photos and also in the shot in the basement. It's awesome that this place is pretty untouched.

I was a little surprised myself. You often come in to lots of graffiti and this place hasn't exactly been a new location for the hobby. Thank you for the compliments!

Indeed! I've never found a place this pristine with the exception of construction sites. Some day!
