| | | Speaking towards this as a hobby, I feel if a person loses motivation, passion, interest (chooses your word) then it was just a passing fancy to begin with. A true hobby or interest is something that I do not think a person would lose interest in, or become unmotivated to do it. That does not mean that things can not become routine after a while. Good thing about this hobby is that there are plenty of different things to explore, schools, houses, hospitals, clinics, drains, caves. I've even gotten a kick out of empty fields that hold nothing more than a portion of a foundation of what was there. Mix it up. If you normally go during the day, go at night. If you normally go alone, find a partner. If you normally wear clothes, go naked (I'm looking at you IndoAnomaly). If you normally look at houses, look at a school.

| | | 7 Years after, im still stoke about exploring and going for a mission. The only difference i see is that one day you will have done pretty much everything in your city and area (depend where) then it can be harder to be motivated to driver 60 km to do a shittty empty manor in the woods. And with time too, if you are like me, you will do more and more intense shit and you will need to fnid that adrenaline , like a drug. So you gonna get arrested, like me, loll
So said that...if after only 6 month you are felling 'meh' maybe this is not a real passion but just someting 'cool' you liked. Something that i do since the beginning is taking a shot with a broom like a litle personnal touch or signature. Maybe find something that will motivate you to go outside like that... get naked like Indoanomaly.. lol Try roofs, try drains, mines, industrial, houses... try everything maybe yoll find someting you like more.

harsh Maybe take a second to assume the person was sincere and looking for a sounding board. We have all been stuck asking ourselves relatively inane questions about the meaning of it all. As part of the planet - shouldn't we all try to be a little better to our fellow inhabitants? Afterall, you get back what you put out there and this is a ROOKIE forum.
| I've been exploring on and off for half a century plus. Motivation has to be internal... or you'll never last. I'm not a cheerleader. It's a lame thread. Try getting busted and losing over $1G, or being questioned by the FBI over a shoot. Trust me, it will help you get in touch with your feelings PM me if you need help with suicidal impulses... I know the cure.

Black I've known you going on what two years now? Ya know I love ya like a brother but dude! Take it easy on the newbies man! Wait until they donate to the site THEN flame them lol.
| Lol, good point. Perhaps instead of the OP asking what he should think about -his- feelings, he should take a break from exploring. As long as it takes... what's the point of doing something if you don't enjoy it? How many times have you seen an explore go to shit, cost you blood, pain and money? I've lost count. The nature of living. A thread on some abstract feeling of disheartenment with exploring is an even worse bore than a bad explore unless you have some tales of arrest, broken bones and gore to share. Try impaling the palm of your hand on a one inch thorn on the back side of a tree while scaling a fence for a demotivational feeling as you pull your hand off of it. Beyond that... I think this thread is a put on, a ringer.

delete it then, my bad
| NO! Dude, stand strong in your post! Just because one person flames you, don't think someone else can get value from your post. I'm new, I probably will get flack for pushing back, but damn skippy man, hold strong in your beliefs and what you post! If you never have someone get mad at some position or thought you post, then you never stood for anything at all. Then you really have to ask yourself WHY you are on this planet and feel dead inside. I think it was a good post. Put in the ROOKIE forum. I think we all have been in a point where we start losing interest in something or someone we used to love and are asking ourselves why the passion is gone. Its an introspective question and just because someone doesn't believe in your sincerity...............well shoot man, who gives a flying biscuit?! Leave the post. I always see a FRACTION of comments to lurkers on each post. You never know who can get value from simply knowing someone else has been there too. Peace out - and @Blackhawk - again, I say stand strong in your convictions. I have a feeling I don't need to tell YOU this. I've read several of your posts and you like it kinda rough and tough dontchya? call me..... LOL kidding. I respect your point of view even if I don't share it.
