Buckstaff Furniture Property 1850-2011 - Demolished 2016/2017
A fellow explorer and I had a chance to visit Buckstaff in March 2016, five years after it had been abandoned. This by far has been my favorite exploration to date. There were multiple buildings on the property to explore. I was amazed by the lack of graffiti, lack of vandalism and amount of items left behind. I found numerous projects left unfinished on workbenches, jigs and some stock that had been left behind.
Buckstaff closed its doors in February 2011, after the electric company turned off the power for lack of payment. The doors never reopened. For five years the city fought a court battle to hold the owners responsible for its cleanup and to get it demolished. In late 2016, early 2017, Buckstaff met its fate as the property was demolished by the city.
Here are a few of several hundred photos I took that day.
