| | | I'll actually give you a legit critique. Nice set of photos! Would love to explore some of those places! For my critique: Out of curiosity, what kind of camera are you using? To my eye it looks like a phone camera. Nothing wrong with that, the best camera is the one you have with you! Just asking as some of my critique and advice will be better suited for a DSLR camera. #1- would have been a nicer shot without the pile of junk in the back, but nothing you can do about that. Have had a few photos like that myself. But nice composition! #2- love the composition here! My only advice would be to try to center the pillars, that way the bridge leads the eye to the center of the frame, and the two pillars would have made for a great frame in the center. #3- this is a cool shot but would be even cooler if you had used a shallow depth of field(aka, fast aperture ex f/2.8). Focus on the front most post and then the other two and background would be blurred out in a beautiful bokehlicious way. #4- too much fence. I like the composition and framing you were going for, but the bright blue/green fence really takes all the attention away from the cool slide and backdrop. #5- neat photo. My only advice would be to have shot from a slightly lower vantage point so as to use the cement barrier to block out the vehicles in the background. Plus that would give the metal piece in the front a more powerful, imposing feel/look. #6- favorite photo of the set. Love the way you composed it to split the X's on both halves of the shot. #7- very busy photo. A lot of stuff drawing the eye. Was the chair supposed to be the focal point of the photo? If so, I would have suggested framing the chair up in the center of the shot with just the valves and pipes in the background. #8- nicely composed shot showing off a location. It is a bit blown out/overexposed, but that is common with phone cameras/point-and-shoots when shooting with snow and a bright sky. Try shooting with a faster shutter speed and/or close down your aperture(ex f/10-16) to darken it up a bit and not loose so much highlight detail. Overall, great set! Just get out there and keep shooting! Try new angles, look for different vantage points and keep an eye for any photographic opportunity that comes around! Check out photos of photographers you admire and see how they composed their shots and try to see their photos through their eyes. That will help you take better shots and give you something to strive for in the field! Hope this was helpful! Feel free to ask any questions or for clarification if you need to!

| | | Fo real. The only thing Im looking forward to this winter is exploring in the snow. Some of these next photos arent pictures of abandonments but instead are just a result of sneaking into places or are just general urban scenes. If you dont like it go suck a lemon. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.
