So.... A friend of mine posted some pics from an explore that were over 20 years old. I searched my name on my phone but after photobucket reformated the links are now gone. Sadfly my lapoy is aldo on the fritz so no interwebz there. That being said, my first official pic of an abandoned building was in feb 2007. But I have been exploring on and off since I was a young teen. Anyone got old pucs? If so..... dig them out and lets see them?
When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

I should have thousands of pictures from this place but unfortunately I didn't bring a camera with me until close to the end. These aren't 20 years old but I know at least 10.

This was the first photo I ever took of the place that got me interested in exploring. It was an abandoned swimming pool in the basement of an active building on my college campus. February 3, 2012.

I guess my first "proper" explore where I actually walked about inside taking photographs would be this one from around 1985:
Previous to that I used to explore little derelict buildings in or around the village I lived in, but I never photographed them except for this one external which probably dates from 1983:
And, yes, I was very young!
And then I stopped taking photographs until I got a shitty Minolta digital in 2004.

Here's a few shots from an old shirt factory from when I was in college, probably taken sometime in 2010. I count this as the first time I ever entered a building that was off limits for the express purpose of exploring and taking photos.

Cool idea for a thread! Looking through my HD to find these was kind of a weird trip down memory lane.

First time ever hopping a fence or exploring was at this place in Douglas County, Georgia and I believe it was taken with a 1.3 megapixel digital camera.
This was a 5 story textile mill built in the 1840s that operated until 1864 when Union troops torched it during the Atlanta Campaign of the Civil War. It was never rebuilt and still sits in ruins today.

My first ever explore was June 2009, although I had been interested in the subject for many years beforehand. My friend I knew through my other main hobby was heavily into exploring and had been doing so since the late 1990s, so he decided to take me along for a weekend of explores. The rest, as they say, is history.
Hellingly Asylum near the south coast of the UK was my first experience, the day my life changed. These were taken with a 4.1mp digital camera which at the time of my explore was already four years old. It's fair to say I've come a long way since then!

My first serious venture was Dixie Square Mall, 1/11/2009. Learned much about photography that day, and on the return trips that followed. Miss that place.

These are from August 2009, when I went to see an abandoned barn near my grandpa's farm. I'd seen other places before, but that's the first time I had a camera with me.
Dixmont was my first real explore as well!! Do you have any more pictures? Please post all that you have. I didn't get to check out Dixmont until they started clearing it out unfortunately, but do have a ton of pics on my flickr.
These were from Dec '05, man, hard to believe that was going on 11 years! I was 14 years old at the time. I actually went with my whole family (2 brothers and parents).
