I couldnt believe I hadn't found this place before now! I've been Urban Exploring for several months now and traveled 3 hours away and this place has been sitting under my nose only a half hour away! Most of the buildings were blocked off. fortunately, I brought a 40 foot rope along with me. Using it, I was able to successfully enter every building I wanted! I felt like a ninja! This location was a shut down brewing company. The property was huge with 2 water towers and if I had to guess, 10 massive 6-7 story warehouses. There were grain silos, a house and barn, as well as a couple out buildings! My favorite location to date, and i have been to some iconic locations here in Pennsylvania!

Looking worse for the wear.
You didn't find the house by the river... and across the river was where the real fun was.
Find the screw on bottle tops?
That stainless steel tank is overgrown and tagged to shit now... lol, you didn't climb the water tank?

I was not on the other side of the river! I'm planing on going back soon, so ill have to check it out! I should have looked at some satellite maps while i was there!
The screw caps were everywhere! I didn't climb to the top, put I did climb pretty high on it. First time I started climbing something, but chickened out. look closely at picture 7. It's not me, but he climbed to the same spot as me.

Cheers!

Ummm, I was kidding you. Make sure it is structurely sound. It look like shit 10 years ago + you can be seen...

Pennhurst is a across the river but it's buildings are mostly gutted and has security. Before 2008(?) was the time to do it...

I mean there was a fire some vandals started in one of the buildings. I remember seeing an article about it online. I also heard the police patrol it, but mostly on the weekend. Can't verify if that's accurate but I didn't have any trouble!

Obviously not. It's always ran sort of hot and cold however it's best not to park by the gate. A bike makes it easier to get around there. Unfortunately the distillery has been gone for about 10 years now.

I barely outran a collapsing wood floor in the red brick whiskey aging building about 10 years ago or so. Weeeeee!!!

Nice! I do admit I love seeing this place since I grew up very close by and it was one of my first big explores (along with the place across the river).

I'm an idiot! I finally get the "house across the river" comments. I didn't realize how close it was to me. Unfortunately it sounds pretty secure and if caught, super high fines!

They say the administration building is alarmed. Some buildings have collapsed or have unstable floors. Tunnels may still have hundreds of pounds of loose asbestos (scrapers). The armory, steam plant, and the auditorium might be worth it but don't get your hopes up.
The current owner gutted -everything- in any building they worked on. You can evade and escape if you spot them; plenty of woods. Park far away.
Lol, if that steel mill didn't bite you, this is a 100% cake walk by comparison.
Unfortunately you are about 10 years too late for all 3 of these

Think power plants...

Thanks for the fantastic advice. I'll have to keep it in mind on my next expedition!

There were hinges along the door, so in that case the rope was just there to keep your balance till you could pull yourself into the window. There were hand railings on the other side of the windows, so the first person up would switch the anchor point to that. There were no other way to get into these buildings, so chances were taken! There were other buildings that we had to put all our wait on the rope and climb up a flat brick wall. This was such a fun exhibition!
