So you were excluded out.
Everybody else that posted here knew the location huh, except you. So not only do UER people form alliances against outsiders, they also form alliances against their own. This is another example of a "them and us" mentality, which I think is founded on bigotism, elitism, and sometimes some sort of arrogance.
As an example of myself, this reminds me of the time I 1st moved to a Latin Kings neighborhood of Little Village, by 26th and Kedzie. There, they use language and words outsiders don't understand, embedded in their culture. They used all kinds of terminology that I didn't know.. And you think there were insiders that would fill me in?
The 1st month I moved in 1 time, a group of them came from behind me and eventually told me to "drop the fork" which I didn't know what it means, it means to make a certain pitchfork symbol with your hands. I didn't know how to do it so I got a 30-second beat down.
Anyways, to make a long story short, the 2nd month I lived there I let them know that I've never had a girlfriend before and am a virgin, which I thought would easy down tensions to me as the "new guy on the block."
Apparently that didn't go to well, now did it. Because it ended up making them think of me as a child molestor and pedophile. So that night the sect leader came into our building, knocked on my door, made the "step outside real quick, you don't need to lock the door, we won't steal your stuff, just step outside real quick" and I ended up getting an ass whoopin of my life, that I don't even remember how it ended.
Muslims, Mormons, Orthodox Jews (and this isn't to any individual person), fraternities and sororities, Nation of Islam, Catholic Church, what do they all have in common.. "Them and us" mentality.
Ultimately, I strive to go to different environments, and learn about cultures of people of different races and gender. I still don't know too much about White people as it turns out.
I remember reading an article about how it's good to be an alpha dog of a group when you encounter another group, where 1 member of a group breaks the ice with another group. I would definitely be the type to do that if I ever was in a group.
