Weekened before last I met up with another explorer from UER, bluebeamsky, and made my first trip out to this popular psychiatric center. I don't think it needs any introduction on this board
We were able to get into the large 13 story building after watching some other explorers enter the POE.
01: Looks like you could go Ice Skating on those Rooftop landings...
02: We made it to the attic. (I love my panos)
03: From there we made it to the roof. Earlier we saw some explorers smoking cigarettes up there. SMH... how bad do you want to attract attention to the building?
Over all it was a successful adventure and also introduced me to this giant sprawling complex of abandoned porn. While lurking UER for KPPC threads, I found KPPC2013s stuff, and reached out to him. I knew this complex had steam tunnels, but I could have never imagined what was in store. We made a plan to meet up and do the main stretch of tunnels.
04: We started by exploring the building we entered
05: Window
06: Panos, panos, panos
07: The owner of the bed wasn't around
08: More window
09: I love it when stuff is still sorta intact. This room was mostly untouched from graffiti and the tables look like they were left. Not knocked over and thrown everywhere:
10: I loved the high windows on this building, made it nice and light inside
11: Finally made it to the basement and found a tunnel:
12: That's me! Had to hug some fiber-glass. Yaaaayy...
13: Cool arch
This was probably one of the most fun and exiting urban ex adventures I've done to date. The part called the "jungle gym" was a blast - the floor was flooded so we had to climb, balance, and straddle pipes to cross the water hazard.
The "hell tunnel" is aptly named, and it thoroughly kicked my ass. I managed to bang my head on the low ceiling cross beams, while also also getting showered in rust flakes.
One of the most memorable parts of the trip was the elevator shaft. There was no way from the basement to the building proper, so we had to enter by climbing a precarious pile of junk from the basement to the level above, all while the elevator car was suspended above us.
Yesterday was a good day! And there's still so much to see here..
He got some great photos of the tunnel, so I'll let drop in this thread and post em.
